Before you buy anything, make a brokerage account and read investopedia articles and/or the books in the OP list. If you don't have a broker, you can't buy stocks and if you blindly buy things without understanding how the stock market works or doing any research on the individual stocks you're buying, you will lose money and it will be entirely your fault.

Ignore the possibility of a recession at your own risk. The potential upside of not taking the his is enormous. But if you insist on doing financials, go for the biggest ones, due to financial regulations after 2008 they are much better positioned to dominate the market as smaller community and regional banks fail.

>Most big innovation is the result of state funded research anyway
Oh gommie I don't buy that at all bruh. Just to double check myself I made a list off the top of my head of 10 big innovations through human history:
>telegraph
>train
>interchangeable parts
>telephone
>internet
>light bulb
>airplane
>assembly line
>battery
>internet
>printing press

The only one of these that was state-funded was the internet, so I assume you are talking about some specific time period that fits your argument? Come on man you are better than that. You could cherry pick 100 state funded innovations and the reality would be that literally everything else wasn't state funded. Just curious what you thinkin bout bruh.

Bonus for double-checking myself on the inventor's of the printing press:
>the entrepreneurial spirit of emerging capitalism increasingly made its impact on medieval modes of production, fostering economic thinking and improving the efficiency of traditional work-processes.

We're not going to have a "financial crisis", at least not in the US, but there is a big difference from 08 and now in a bad way. Now global interest rates are pretty much at zero and the US empire is stretched to its limits with its military as a volunteer force. It will be much harder to escape this crisis than other before it. What's more, the fact that debt is concentrated into corporations means that unemployment could be particularly bad as they all default.

All of Watt's early work and research was done in the service of Glasgow University, a public institution.

>interchangeable parts
Was first developed for the US and British militaries.

>telephone
Graham's inventing and research was first supported by his father and then the University of Boston before he went into the private sector.

>light bulb
A rare exception

>airplane
Only made possible on a commercial scale by military testing in WW1

>assembly line
just an extension of the division of labor in manufacturing , which was pioneered by chinese state run monopolies centuries before Ford.

>battery
Volta's research was all done in the service of public universities.

>printing press
Pre-capitalist innovation.

Out of these only one is completely the result of capitalist competition, and even then the electric light bulb would be useless without the state sponsored electrification of the country.

When do you think it will be? I see us dipping hard in 3rd quarter but never touching Dec lows. My logic is this: manufacturing pulls back, the economy is definitely tied to stock market performance and a down market becomes a self fulfilling prophecy but it takes 6-9 months to feed back into the market. I think retail investors are heavily leveraged in the stock market and reduce spending when they lose money which negatively affects GDP. Plus corporate buy backs by their nature will raise volatility.

It's a dying brand, and ford can last a long time, but better shit will come out than those 75K 85K trucks they want to push, and that's pre-tax doll. worst investment and im ashamed.
