trading volatility can be incredibly difficult. Some great advice I got from teh profit ages ago is that it's much much easier to short volatility after a spike than it is to predict a lowpoint and go long. With the demise of XIV that's become a lot harder/riskier, especially if you're using only robinhood. basically the only good point you've made in this entire diatribe. My limit orders hit 80% of the time, and when they don't I'm paying a 0.2% hit on $2000 trades = $4.00, still less than $5.
I saved $2,000 in trades last year. The only time I'd go conventional is if my account was $250k or more. But still I'd have to test the market buy performance.
