HAPPY birthday baggie edition

>I'm new to the stock market, what stocks should I buy?
Before you buy anything, make a brokerage account and read investopedia articles and/or the books in the OP list. If you don't have a broker, you can't buy stocks and if you blindly buy things without understanding how the stock market works or doing any research on the individual stocks you're buying, you will lose money and it will be entirely your fault.

unless you expect widespread, devastating civil unrest there's not too much of a reason to pay premiums on purchasing bullion above spot price. There's also the matter of getting taken for a little cash when you want to sell your bullion as well as buying it, and it can be stolen of course. Investing in precious metals is surprisingly complicated and they're generally used as a hedge against big market swings by people who know what they're doing.

I just want something i can actually spend when the time comes that nothing else will be worth anything. Of course, buying a silver stock would be smart because the price of silver will go up with demand and i'd get huge returns, but i'm not an experienced investor, so i have no idea what to look for. i just think it might be smarter to buy the physical shit for a brainlet like myself. Any tips?
BTW i'm looking at lear capital bullions for under 20$, specifically these canadian bullions. I couldn't buy more than 10 with the american eagle bullions, and i'd rather have more just to split my money into something better for buying things in smaller deals.

What if Cron doesn't drop after earings tomorrow? fuck

Cronos Group has often been at the forefront of change within the quickly growing cannabis sector.

Altria Group, the maker of Marlboro cigarettes, invested $1.8 billion in Cronos group in December 2018, giving it a 45% stake in the cannabis producer. At current prices, Altria's investment in the company has more than doubled.

"Altria is the ideal partner for Cronos Group, providing the resources and expertise we need to meaningfully accelerate our strategic growth," said Cronos CEO Mike Gorenstein at the time of the investment.

Cronos became the first company that grows and sells marijuana to be listed on a US exchange in February 2018, paving the way for publicly traded rivals Canopy Growth and Aurora Cannabis. Cronos previously traded in Canada.

Founded in 2013, Cronos Group owns and operates brands in the business of marijuana cultivation and distribution. It owns 100% of both Peace Naturals and Original BC, which are licensed to grow and sell medical marijuana.

The stock was up 101% this year, including Monday's gain.

bond funds perform badly when intrest rates are rising. basically the fund is constantly buying bonds that go down in price because new bonds have better rates.
however, bond funds have other advantages (diversification as you said is a big one). if the stock market collapses 50%, your bond fund will likely lose less than 1% or even see gains.

Lame duck of a day for me. None of my holdings were a bit drop or anything, they just all went down a bit and so it added up. NVTA kept me afloat though, but I still got another 100 dollars to get back up to get green.

But I'm not gonna invest in any stocks that I'm not planning on holding for a long ass time since I want to start contributing to my dividend portfolio since my first new paycheck comes this week.

CGC is valued at 20 bil with 250,000 kg yearly capacity. I'm wouldn't be paying $77,000/kg/yr for a large cap when i can get small caps valued at $5,000/kg/yr.

My personal take. The large cap pumps were proof of concept that dude weed investors wont get ripped off. The next big pump will be the lagging mid and small cap valuations being brought into line with sector ratios.

During the day there’s literally millions and millions of customers so transactions are instantaneous because there’s a line of a thousand hungry customers waiting to buy/sell your shares. More customers = liquidity.

In after-hours, there are way, way, way less customers in at your exact prices.

The price that the ticker shows is not the real price of a share of stock. It’s the average between the Buyer’s Highest Bid in the market(s) and the Seller’s Lowest Asking Price in the market(s).

During the trading session, if the ticker is flashing $10.00, then that means the bid is $9.99 and the ask is $10.01. Since it’s only a penny apart, and there’s a shit ton of customers, the transactions can happen quickly a.k.a. High Liquidity.

In after-hours, that same $10.00 on the ticker could be bid $5.00 and ask $15.00 with only a handful of customers (assume it was a stellar session that moved a ton; don’t focus too much on percentage just trying to use easy numbers to convey the point). If you put your bid in at $10 in this example, you’re still $5.00 under the lowest current asking price on the books at the exchange. That’s what’s happening to you here.
