An even easier way to figure it out is to calculate how much you’ll pay per stock depending on volume. For example, my broker is $5 per trade if I normally buy 5 stocks, that means my stock will need to go up at least $2 for me to make any money since I’m charged for buying and for selling, which is kind of a lot unless you plan on every stock you put money in mooning every time, which isn’t likely. If you trade 50 shares normally, your stock needs to go up $.20 which is more reasonable. 500 shares $.02 and so on.

When I first started, I traded 1 stock with my $5 commission because I was a fuckhead. That means those stocks need to rise $10 dollars just for me to break even. This is where using Robin Hood would have been a good idea, but it’s too little too late now.
