What do you lads think of buying property in Venezuela? Due to the crisis there houses are cheap as dirt so you can get a caribbean summer house by close to nothing. Some middle-upper class apartments are being sold between 10000 and 20000 us dollars when they would normally be 150000+.
Of course it's a risky investment, it all depends on wether the economic situation will improve in the future and wether crime will go down. And of course you must also be careful of online scammers trying to "sell" you their house for 2 cents.
