Weekend Edition

>I'm new to the stock market, what stocks should I buy?
Before you buy anything, make a brokerage account and read investopedia articles and/or the books in the OP list. If you don't have a broker, you can't buy stocks and if you blindly buy things without understanding how the stock market works or doing any research on the individual stocks you're buying, you will lose money and it will be entirely your fault.

The market ended on a high note plus it's the weekend so I'm stoked! The only thing that could make it better is if I retired from my job and told my asshole boss and co-workers to suck my cock. But oh well one day that day will come and I'll be having lots of Profit and some hot 18 year old babe waiting for a double good ol whammy. Till then I'll just wait and buy up more T on the dippage. Such a fat divvy you can't find not at this cheap ass price am I right? Used to be CTL took the cake $2.16 per share in Divvys that would cost you only $16 per check. But then they decided to be losers and slashed the divvy more than half so investors retaliated by dumping there shit and switching to T as fast as they could haul ass.

It'll be fair. Honestly, SMHD was the disappointer for me with March dividends. Maybe a hedge with gamestop shorts (or options) would be in your interest then? Anyone else find it weird that day trading restrictions actually prevent small-time investors from minimizing their losses? It's like the wealthy want the poor to stay poor hmmm.

>> No.13033690

>>13033644

You bet. It's useful sometimes. Mainly with small caps that trade on fairly thin volume. With large cap stocks there are so many orders and so much shifting from minute to minute, it can be a lot of noise. Also, level 2 is the domain of bluffs and shitposts with money. See some huge buy order and think that's legit and will surely hold up to some determined selling? Nope! Lol huge bid just disappeared! This happens all the time. The bid was real, of course, but whoever put it up did so with intent to make it seem like that support was stronger than it actually is, sort of spoof people in to buying thinking there's a safety net at that price. The moment market price approaches the big order, the person cancels it. Same thing happens on the ask side, too. Trying to suppress upward movement by putting big bluff asks slightly above market price.

>>13033652
>I'm getting a migraine trying to determine if lptx's price movement is a p&d or sneaky institutions

in a few very specific instances
generally speaking, the more actively you trade, the more likely you are to underperform in the long term

Thing about averages is that most people are genuinely retarded. I've probably made 30+ swings this week and I think I ended up red on 3 of them, and that was only because I couldn't risk my account getting locked by trading the same day I bought when I noticed the price was going to go down.
Wikis and howtos make day trading sound way more complicated than it actually is, and boomer day traders develop way too complex strategies than is necessary.

More than one neurotransmitter is responsible for making you feel good, and they all have multiple uses brought the body. It's a total oversimplification, but I think you know what it means.

The reward system is generally associated with dopamine, dopamine give you the rush from gambling, eating, sex, etc. and even playing games on your phone or getting that like on your instagram post.

There's a book out there (I never finished reading it) that emphasizes the connection between dopamine and amusement/excitement, while seratonin is more linked with contentedness/happiness.

But if you're going out innawoods and get excited from seeing wildlife, that's not the purpose of he exercise, but it's different from the destructive habits most of us find ourselves in.

I paid something like 11/share. Way I see it, gamestop isn't gonna fall too much over the next year, so I'll probably hold a small portion and make my decision on whether to keep holding by the end of the year. There is a LOT of pressure from shareholders that pretty much everyone at the top needs to be booted out and should snatch up more shares to drive price up. Risk is there, but it probably isn't as dangerous as everyone else makes it out to be.

Worst case scenario imho is 9-10 eoy but they usually have a big enough spike where you can exit every year from what I was watching.

Is this real? Doesn't after hours end? Is this some next level trading that free traders don't have access to?

I'm beginning to be a bit suspicious of RH. I noticed my free stock is on their "100 most popular" and "popular under 25" list. But if they choose to give away certain stocks they can easily manipulate their lists and, I would think, skew trading.

There seems like some potential for real shenanigans there.

Believe it or not, no. I've argued about this before, but I'm more worried about other physical sellers like Amazon. It's not a fair comparison to compare Gamestop to blockbuster because there is still a market for physical and used copies of games. The only reason we saw PC kill off the physical market was for things like really good steam sales. Valve doesn't have a horse in the direct publishing game, so they were able to let prices fall. We aren't gonna see sales like the steam sales of old on consoles ever. That's where gamestop could really find the niche they need to survive. Lower prices, better used trading rewards, and working to get prices of used copies down to a competitive price. They are also in desperate need of a rebranding. More focus towards their online platform for one. Probably close some stores, etc. I'm not necessarily optimistic, but they aren't doing bad because of online digital distribution. They are doing bad because they made bad business decisions and refused to compete against Amazon and target and other platforms.

Depends on the movement premarket on Monday. If it opens at 2.4 or lower you could snag a dip during morning PH.
But yeah, it probably won’t get filled Monday, that’s my gut feeling. Maybe Tuesday or Wednesday. There’s gonna be P&D movement on Monday, presentation is overnight after close. There could be heavy pumping on Tuesday depending on the data or any forward-looking statements (they’ll probably announce earnings sometime early in the week). If it runs too hot going into Tuesday it’ll plummet for a couple days until finding a support. Likely to bounce between support and resistance until toward the end of the month until it gaps up and finds a support in the 3s.

Or there could be an institutional takeover and shares spike 200%. Such is the nature of biotechs

>> No.13037483

Presentation is at 12am EST on Tuesday in Hawaii but their website accidentally lists it as GMT (2PM EST Monday). Watch out for P&D movement from 1pm-2pm (because most traders are still misinformed about the time). You’ll probably snag the daily high there. I probably won’t risk it though because PM and AH could easily send it into the rear view

Really depends on what the price movement looks like on Monday morning. If I see it running too hot and some crazy spiking at pre-market- open I'm taking profits and rebuying at the new support.

As far as I can tell, they're figuring VSTM was delisted from the XBI, and that's why the after hours volume was huge, XBI was offloading it's shares and the shorts were snatching them up to cover their positions.
