That was a good year. Cocaine was way more expensive than it is now, though.

I'm getting 11,196.91 for inflation adjusted median income. or about a ~70 on my gold::income index. It's just stupid shit I made in excel, it peaks at 240 in 1970 (good year) and bottoms out at 29 in 1980 (bad year). Another noticable point is 2001 @ 155.12 right before the dotcom bubble

my current data only goes to 2016 which is a 47 (meh year)

But how much would it cost to build a new house with the equivalent of a 76 house? It’d prob have 1 bathroom and no central ac. I’m genuinely curious to how much those sort of modern additions add to the price

(Not talking about real estate limited by artificial supply) I just mean in terms of the house it’s self

Actually, older houses generally cost more to build due to an increased usage of expensive building materials like brick.

Most modern build houses are made of cheap wood to cuts costs.

I don’t know if I agree with that especially when every new house has granite counters

Add in some ugly ass wallpaper and green plush carpet and orange cabinets in the kitchen. Shape it like a miniature barn and you got yourself a cheap 1970s house with a septic tank.

kek it aint granite anon, they're all engineered stone overlays. arguable have a lot of benefits over real stone, one of many is significantly reduced cost
