Hi /biz/

I am lucky enough to have some life savings and no debt or car payments or anything.

I have £50,000 in cash ready to put into something, but I know nothing about investing.

What should I do?

well I don't know any tech entrepeneurs or shit that'd get me the inside dirt on an investment, so it's either pure gambling or good old fashioned investing. Might as well take it to a casion as put it in crypto though right? At lease I can play a little bit of blackjack.

>>13018433
so the good old fashion investing? My friends did 10K in gold and silver recently but he is tech-illiterate so no crypto. He showed me gold price graphs for the past century and I was impressed and understand it is 99% guaranteed to grow in value.

My only problem is this, would that money be able to be made better use of now? As gold is something to mature over decades, would it be best to invest in something else like stocks or property and put my profits into gold instead?

Please don't put your money in Crypto. Your odds are better at a casino.

Be sensible with your money. Bear in mind a good investment might not be about getting money returns but what about investing in a good education? a car? Or tangible assets that actually generate you something material. Its hard to know what the best thing for you to do is without more information.

If you are looking to have some financial assets over a long period of time whilst not knowing much about investing then most people in finance would recommend you putting your money into a low cost index fund such as the S&P 500 which is 500 of the largest American businesses all lumped together under one share price. Believe it or not, most asset management firms cannot beat the S&P500's performance over a 20 year + period (where compounding really kicks off).

I'm leave a really important point for you about investor "fees" from Warren Buffets latest share holder letter so you can see how important it is to lower investing costs.

>Let’s put numbers to that claim: If my $114.75 had been invested in a no-fee S&P 500 index fund, and all
dividends had been reinvested, my stake would have grown to be worth (pre-taxes) $606,811 on January 31, 2019 (the
latest data available before the printing of this letter). That is a gain of 5,288 for 1. Meanwhile, a $1 million investment
by a tax-free institution of that time – say, a pension fund or college endowment – would have grown to about $5.3
billion.
>Let me add one additional calculation that I believe will shock you: If that hypothetical institution had paid
only 1% of assets annually to various “helpers,” such as investment managers and consultants, its gain would have
been cut in half, to $2.65 billion. That’s what happens over 77 years when the 11.8% annual return actually achieved
by the S&P 500 is recalculated at a 10.8% rate.

I also have a trasferwise card, check em out also

Just checked out Cryptosaurus, they are not taking on new ppl RN...also they can take 24 hr to do the transfer, a bit nerve racking when your waiting for the transfer...pretty sure they are all tapped out crypto RN anywho.

Do check out Bitty, never had bad service!

I haven't used it yet but binance.je can take EU bank transfers.

I would say you should get a hardware wallet if you care about your crypto financial future. Sadly you have to leave your GVT with them, you can set up 2 factor though.

can you read anon, they don't allow card payments to an exchange. Thanks for your other advice though anon, I will lok into it.

>>13019291
thanks anon this is helpful. I am wary of crypto, but it is not an amount I have to put in one place, so I can do an 80/20 split with something else.

I am not looking for cars and such. I invested in "classic" cars a while back and its a headache. I just want my money to grow. As I am only 27, my temptation is to go find something that will make me some bucks in a year, rather than 20, but I know I must be sensible too. I will look into an SP500 though.

What would you recommend for something that is headache free with no work (unlike cars) and something that can generate cash? I thought about rental property as I can pay a property manager to take care of it and they find tenants and such for me, providing me with a side income. What do you think to that?

Sadly, there is no real get rich quick scheme - otherwise everyone would be rich.

Rentals, are nice because you essentially make money whilst you sleep if its all taken care for you. Most rental agents take a large slice of your revenue - its just industry standard.

I am a brainlet and don't know what subleasing is, you mean rent and then rent out at a higher price? With 50K you can buy a house outright in some of the more industrial places in the UK. Bradford or Barnsley etc. They are genreally poorer and don't have a lot of people purchasing, so they all rent and therefore it is a safe bet. But you might only get a few hundred a month from them. But the house is mine outright and as teh property market goes up, it'll be worth a chunk when I sell too.

Not that hard.
I'm sure you know a friend or two that plays the game. Either uses or distributes. Have a chat with them. Your the money, they are the dealer. They know other dealers and so on.
When your buying 50k worth of blow your cost per ounce should be between 1200-1500.
You get your mate to do the legwork and split or he gets 1//3 profit from each sale.
Cocaine basically sells itself.
It can be difficult or you have to deal with some threats but as long as your mate is solid and keeps his mouth shut your good.
Don't even let him know where you keep your stash. Even if you do keep it at your place, make him think it's in a safe house.
Don't deal with people that shoot it or
Smoke it.
Only sniffers.
Deal with smokers if they are people that have higher jobs and can afford their addiction.

You should be able to buy it for under 50 dollars per gram with 50k
And sell for 100 per gram. If somebody gets 3 grams or more, lowest you go on price per gram is 80 bucks.

OP, you enter the crypto market at a near perfect moment, way down at the bottom of a cycle.

If you want to be rich, buy QNT. We can explain how. If you cba then just buy ETH instead. Or even BTC, you'll get a few hundred grand maybe.

I have £100k GBP and am all in QNT.

Best prospects out of any coin right now, but there are loads of other good projects.
