I just tossed the last few 1080tis I have on ETH last year when everything else really went to shit and sort of forgot about it. Mining is cool and I'll keep doing it as long as I'm at least breaking even on electricity. I'm confident that I'll be happy I did in the next 3-5 years, but I am tempted to sell my cards and dump that money into coins directly while prices are low.

What about mining obscure new released shitcoins and sell them for eth as soon as they get listed somewhere and have their consequential mini pump? Is anyone doing it?

Indeed. Can you redpill me on how to find those shitcoin? I'm stuck with newly listed on coinmarketcap/coingecko and the ANNs on bitcointalk (too much noise in this one). I want to fine tune my strategy.

>> No.13006234

How are you seeing which coins are best profit? Do you have some sort of auto-switching software?

>> No.13006257

>>13006209
well i dont mine anymore but i guess this shit hasnt changed much. There are discords listing all new minable coins but 80% of them are going nowhere. It can happen that you mine some shitcoin for months waiting for a listing only to watch it go to 0.
So mine a shitcoin that has something that sets it apart, something you can shill, but for no longer than a week before you switch. If the diff rises too much, switch. Always mine low diff, as soon as it rises its time to move. The shit you mine, hold it for months if needed be, but only if the devs are active otherwise dump instantly

>> No.13006437

>>13006257
Exactly my thoughts, all of it. I'm trying to automate the new shitcoins discovery part of this strategy (maybe with a web scraper) to make it as hassle-free as possible, but I lack sources, where I need a kickstart. Do you happen to remember some of these discord servers and/or a directory where I can find them? Thanks fren
Also in this specific case, what you'd define an high difficulty? Talking about the shittiest of the shitcoins

>> No.13006470

>>13006017
yeah selling cards and just buying eth is probably just easier anon

>> No.13006485

>>13006437
here you go buddy i found one /Bv8wx7

>what you'd define an high difficulty?
check the algo and compare with other coins using same algo. If approaching the diff of a moderately popular coin, move to the next one.
Careful with shittiest of shitcoins. I used to mine some really obscure coins, the kind that are listed on cryptobridge and many went straight to zero, even with active team constantly updating the discord. All of them are scammers so you got to time it right.
About automating the search for shitcoins, thats gonna take some serious skills

same, but I stopped mining eth when grin came out as it was far more profitable than ETH with 1080tis. I currently have 20 1080t0i's and I have free electricity but I am not sure if I should just keep my cards mining on free power or sell them and buy coins.

i am leaning towards just keeping the cards and keep mining, i enjoy it as a hobby and its less risky. I know if I dump my rigs and go all in I will get bogged with another major leg down and be even more underwater and have no rigs or new coins coming in anymore
