literally stealing at these cheapies! edition

>I'm new to the stock market, what stocks should I buy?
Before you buy anything, make a brokerage account and read investopedia articles and/or the books in the OP list. If you don't have a broker, you can't buy stocks and if you blindly buy things without understanding how the stock market works or doing any research on the individual stocks you're buying, you will lose money and it will be entirely your fault.

What would I be looking into? Insurance? Suppliers? Hospitals? I know there has been a lot of consolidation among large hospitals the last decade and I don't think it is going to slow. What kind of macro is there? I'd be worried about some bill completely wiping me out depending on how I'm invested.

Buffett just destroyed you guys. BUY SPY. This is what Buffett said in his letter to shareholders:

Let’s put numbers to that claim: If my $114.75 had been invested in a no-fee S&P 500 index fund, and all dividends had been reinvested, my stake would have grown to be worth (pre-taxes) $606,811 on January 31, 2019 (the latest data available before the printing of this letter). That is a gain of 5,288 for 1. Meanwhile, a $1 million investment by a tax-free institution of that time – say, a pension fund or college endowment – would have grown to about $5.3 billion.

Let me add one additional calculation that I believe will shock you: If that hypothetical institution had paid only 1% of assets annually to various “helpers,” such as investment managers and consultants, its gain would have been cut in half, to $2.65 billion. That’s what happens over 77 years when the 11.8% annual return actually achieved by the S&P 500 is recalculated at a 10.8% rate.

So is 2.13 a good price to get into REFR? I've been hoping to see it drop to 2, but I'm starting to think that's just not going to happen, but i have zero idea how their earnings tomorrow are going to go

Right now? I wouldn't. Market is pumping pretty hard right now, but there will be a MASSIVE dump I bet soon. maybe not this week, but certainly by the end of the month.

But if you're asking a general question as a newbie, yeah 500 is a good starting place to learn the market. Manage your risk, don't chase 200 percent gains, and put more into your stocks, reinvest your gains, etc.

I was thinking of selling my HMC today since it's perpetually stuck at ~27 and I bought in around 30, but I think I'm gonna long it. Worst case scenario, i collect divies, but I've been researching into their electric division a bit and I think if anyone can make this shit affordable, it's gonna be Honda. Might have to sit through the inevitable recession with it, but i think the move to electric is only gonna move the price on this up

I guess if you're only interested in going vroom vroom real fast, you might enjoy it, but i think cars have just gotten too fat for me to really get any enjoyment out of them.

I don't have an easy way to do that without giving away too much info. This is my recent history on S&P at this (apparent) pivot point:
