Most if it is just memes.. I don't think very many people actually expect the market to 5x+ in a year any time soon, However, 50%-100% gains could somewhat easily happen. That's still pretty huge if you compared it to the expected returns on traditional investments.

I'm not saying crypto is guaranteed to go up (far from), but you don't have to believe in 'muh golden bull run soon' to be very bullish on crypto.
