>I'm new to the stock market, what stocks should I buy?
Before you buy anything, make a brokerage account and read investopedia articles and/or the books in the OP list. If you don't have a broker, you can't buy stocks and if you blindly buy things without understanding how the stock market works or doing any research on the individual stocks you're buying, you will lose money and it will be entirely your fault.

The SEC is basically worthless as a regulatory body at this point. Algos/HFTs, Dark Pools, and all the enormous amounts of money that go with them really took the market to a level where I don't even think the SEC knows how to properly structure things anymore. U.S. markets are a totally manipulated clusterfuck designed to vacuum up everyone's money and concentrate it into the hands of a minority of people who the system is rigged in favor of. You can't even use a strategy of "follow the big boys" anymore because they detect when you're doing that and just shake you out or sit you in a loss for so long that the opportunity cost of sitting in it makes the trade basically worthless even if you end up profiting on it when price finally comes back.

dividend growth (CAGR) is better than high yields for me. High yield dividend stocks are usually riskier (MLP, CEF, REIT) or high because there's an issue with the company.

There are some good, high yield companies but I usually focus on growth of the dividend because you get pay raises without having to invest new capital, and that compounds along with the reinvested dividends to get some pretty nice results

>> No.12951659

>>12949802
ok fags i i've come up with a better version of the iron condor with lower risk. Posting here in case some autist can explain to me why my idea is retarded.

here is the improved strategy:
buy out of the money puts (@ $50) and calls(@ $90) let's say each for $5.
the current traded price of the asset is $70.
>+$10 credit

if the price hits the either one of my puts/calls I buy the corresponding type of option i shorted for the at-the-money price.

The at-the-money price is assumed to be $11.
This way if it goes any higher/lower my losses are limited to my current credit - the option i just bought.

If price hits $90 my max losses are -$1 ($10 credit - option price i just bought $11). If price then goes on to hit $70 my max losses are -$11 ($10 credit - put option i buy $11 - call option i buy $11).

so max losses are : -$11 and max gains are: +$10.
As long as price ranges between $90 and $70 without ever hitting $90 or $70 I can realise the max gains. If the price ever hits $90 then losses become : -$1 and gains +$10 but if it hits both $90 AND $70 before expiration of the option, I lose $11.

why is this better than normal iron condor?
Normal iron condor losses tend to be around;
max losses: -$14 and max gains are: +$10

the one thing I have assumed in the new strategy is that the at-the-money price of the options is going to be the same as the current at-the-money price if the asset pumps/dumps.

the bank of japan can single handedly pump the nikkei to 40k and spx to 3000 but choose to slow it down because time (divided by) money. honestly, they had a meeting with the fed in 2009 and 2015 and are the true provider to the world markets. the system is perfect and they will bring the real golden bull. alongside the plunge protection Urban legend the market is unstoppable now

I have a handyman business and also work for contractors when they have jobs.. but the contractors usually do their work in the mornings.. so after their jobs i go and take care of my handyman clients.. last night tho some bitch spent the night and basically kept me up all night and i had to get up early for a job...

I make enough money off of my investments to live.. but it's just enough to live.. I tried to be a full time investor but unless you are throwing around millions it could get boring imo.. I grew up doing construction so if i'm not building something i don't feel like i'm living.. I don't like being home in front of a computer so i don't usually mind working all day and making money.. buuutt.. sometimes it gets a little out of control.

but me read book on Japan about how America basically tricked Japan into pumping the Nikkie back in the 80s through a real trade war

American firms spent years learning Japanese culture and stuff for the sole purpose of destroying their econmommy by exploiting their regional / loyalty based business models

theres no way they forgive us T_T

yeah but anything before 2012 doesnt matter. theres a new bank of japan, with a new financial minister that changed the Yen policy. The grudge couldnt last because its a team effort to bull the world markets when things slowed down after 2008. The Japanese retirement funds cant buy the bonds because of negative interest rates, so basically, the nikkei has no choice. the bank of japan is destined to pump it to 40k

We are. It's like in 2015-16. The jobs numbers are substantially flawed because they only record people who are actively looking for work. Real unemploymemt rate is 20% or more in US. Combined with stagnant or even shrinking wages for the past ten years creates a cash squeeze when easy credit dries up. The economy can't handle higher interest rates for this reason, and that's why equities respond so strongly to rate increases. We already have a jobs crisis that's being hidden by msm. Once the working poor and even the well off start cutting retarded spending, and when next year's debt slaves hit the job market only to find the only open slots are unpaid internships, that's when TSHTF
