Game of shitcoins.

Ever wondered what would happen if you'd invest 1 ETH in each "moonshot" that's being shilled here?

I made a sheet with a list of shitcoins that have been shilled here recently. Prices update every 10 mins. Check out the live rankings:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1TNmlwcdwXPd8RKpfP07BoYaAadvIymG5SXu8TiSGTj0

Day 3 of the experiment. So far we got about-270$
Added some new coins today. Give me some other suggestions /biz/, we need to at least break even

Can we actually make some profit long term? Can we even beat ETH hodl? Stay tuned to find out.

wtf why do you have so many shitcoins?

>never seen more than pajeet 1 thread for half of those

no wonder you're -$270

Also, we need some rules on how to manage this list. Adding every single coin would make the list too long, so we need some criteria for replacing some of the tokens, and a max size. Any suggestions?

I wanted to see what'd happen if you'd buy everything that's being shilled.

The list is about coins being shilled right?
So I suppose there needs to be a minimum shill amount, like number of hits if your search in the archive or something like that.

heh nice to see ICNQ up there.
I've taken a massive loss on that project since i bought at 20 cents.
They've burned 50% of their supply since then though and i honestly think i'm in a good position to make some good money still but it's been nice to have seen some shilling for the project here during the past week.

Nah the coin burn itself was an indication of a massive faliure in regards to their sale.
They tried to sell their tokens at a higher price than they were traded for on IDEX which in return caused a massive dump so they canceled their public sale and burned every last token.

I'm looking at the project itself and the backing that they've got.
Far from a sure thing but it's one of those "what if" holds and i'm cautiously optimistic.

Yeah that's what i figured when i bought in at 20 cents, conficence has taken somewhat of a hit but with the currect price i've managed to average down quite nicely desu and increase my holding.

I guess time will tell if it was the right call or not but from looking at project like Unibright who joined the Iconiq labs accelerator program i'd say that i feel fairly confident that i'll at least make back my original investment when the other projects in their portfolio go live.

Hard to to with the low volume at the moment though.
It doesn't take much to push prices 2x and not a lot of people are selling.

100k is a nice target though but i don't think it'll take that much to reach that target level in the end. i'm at about 80 now but i guess another 20 couldn't hurt.
I can tell myself i'm just trying to average down and not over extend myself.

Hopefully yes, and i think the teams tokens will be unlocked within a couple of months so we might see a dump then if market conditions stay what they are but i think they'll release their funds and push some of their projects through the tube before then drumming up some actual intrest in the project.

I think the next ICO under their accelerator program will be held next month and i expect other news to follow.

I'm working on something that does exactly that, basically identifying new shills. These picks are just from a quick look around and some suggestions.

>>12918809
Yet it's still constantly being shilled here.

>>12918950
Thanks for the support. I've added a tip jar below the chart.

My goal with this whole thing is basically proving more transparency into shilling on /biz/.

There used to be a time when you could actually find some good opportunities or hidden gems here, now 99% is P&D or paid shilling. It's become just so hard to filter out the crap here.
Obviously there are still legit shills sometimes, but they are so rare and so far in between that it's almost not worth going through all the other shit for them. What we need, is something that combines multiple data sources to give a good overview of how "legit" something is.
I'm talking about thing like the number of appearances+timeframe, sentiment analysis, price/volume analysis before the shill (to notice p&d schemes), combined with a ML model that's trained on historical data.
It would pick up new shills whenever they appear and instantly apply that analysis on them. Yeah, it still wouldn't be perfect, but at least it'd make things more clear.

This spreadsheet is just the first step. For now this will be the only thing that I post here, so people can see >>12918852
In the meantime, I'm working on something bigger. At first I wanted to keep it for myself, but looking at the state of biz, I think that it's better to make it publically available, in some way.

Anyway, let me know if you'd be interested in something like that.

>> No.12919458

>>12919381
I'd be interested in a machine learning approach, although I think the training data might be a bit thin/it will be hard to identify which were just some randoms shilling and which were orchestrated pump and dumps

>> No.12919558

>>12918564
well done op
this may be one of the least shitty posts since the end of the bullrun

>> No.12919561

>>12919381
First you have to filter the data so you only have moments where posts on 4chan -> price action (pump/dump)
P&D do usually follow a pattern though, so it's not that random. Best approach would be to scrape IDEX order data and try something like a GAN, but getting all that data would take a while...

>> No.12919577

Lol nice post

>> No.12919632

>>12919561
I think scraping idex data and getting patterns is much too hard, because you have all these random fluctuations and correlation with btc etc.

I think it would be cool to do a frequency analysis of post firsts to identify some patterns before getting into hardcore stuff like GANs. Basically you should she a high spike of posts for a specific coin, which deviates significantly from its median. Than you can correlate that to the price and see what the pattern is.
Next level is sentiment analysis, if you have multiple ids in a thread complementing each other and fighting off cristicism with something like "hurr you dont like money" blah, you're pretty likely to see an orchestrated pnd happening.

>> No.12919720

>>12919381
An actually useful crypto thread on biz? That's some good shit, I'm looking forward to seeing how this plays out over the long term

>> No.12920347

>>12919632
You don't need to get patterns from the IDEX data. It's just more precise than just volume/price data, since you can see exactly how much of a token was bought during some timeframe. If you see lots of buying, yet the price doesn't really change, this is usually a clear indicator of accumulation.

Like you said, once you filter 4chan text data and you have the number of daily (or even hourly, but I use daily atm) posts/mentions for every coin that has been mentioned here, you can filter it so only the spikes remain. Then lookup price/volume data in a certain timeframe around each spike, and combine the data. I don't really get what you mean by patterns, you mean train a ML model on it?

The thing with sentiment analysis on 4chan data is that usual models don't work, because the language used here is just too different. If you use for example the IBM watson model on a thread, it won't fully detect the shilling. It would actually probably label something like "you don't like money" as more negative. Well IBM watson has multiple sentiments so it's not black and white, but you get what I mean, it won't be fully accurate (I tried). So you need to either train your own model, or somehow adopt it to the language here. This is what I'm currently looking into. Getting the GAN to work isn't that hard (ML is actually part of my work), the main challenge is input data. Which comes back to good sentiment analysis.

>> No.12920404

Also, for those interested and that don't know about this, you can already use http://chantiment.com/ to see the mention count of each token.
There used to be merv.tech but the guy shut it down.. Not sure what happened..

But, it's still too vague without sentiment analysis.
