Is ETH an altcoin?

>> No.12892837

>>12892820
Of course it is, it is the number 1 ichiban altcoin (XRP isn't really crypto).

>>12892820
in reality there is:
crypto currencies
smart contract platforms
utility tokens
scams

ETH is a smart contract platform, the cheaper ETH is the more useful it is. BTC is not special at all.

Until eth is staking, that is. Then transactions will be basically free and the staking will just be a guaranteed ROI on tech infrastructure.

... and that would make ETH sub $20.

>> No.12893183

>the cheaper ETH is the more useful it is

nope, Ether must maintain a value high enough to secure the chain from 51% attack, unless it can go to PoS completely.

>>12893183
the miner are what is supporting the price
ETH being expensive as is now is what is making it useless
ETH devs want to make ETH useful, so they are dropping the miners to drop the price, and to move await from blocks and into side chains
a lot of people gonna get the JUST

my point is valid, if you have cheaper ETH you will use more of it

>sub $20 eth
trust me if staking works i'd be willing to cut of my dick if eth hits $20

only scenario eth hits $20 is PoS is abandoned/critical bugs

>> No.12894278

>>12894258
if something cost nothing to produce
competition between producers will drive it down
on top of that you will have speculators and colored market makers that will actively short it
so the asset will fall to its production value
just like gold and silver and bitcoin and human life

I'll put it to you this way:

When I think about investing into anything in crypto I ask myself how easy it is to store it and send it. Then I just end up buying ERC-20 tokens to solve that problem. I don't want to start some meme wallet with some xyz coin that doesnt have their shit sorted out (which is most) and isnt wallet compatible on 99% of the shit out there.

I stay away from shit like RAVEN COIN because the wallet management is a fucking nightmare and the community is fucking cancer. Just like the vast majority of other "coins"

Fuck them, I'm just in this for easy gains and even storing their shitcoins is a fucking headache. I dont need that shit in my life I already have a gf.

That's probably even money skelly's masterplan
Not a huge fan of eth, but such system would make sense for boomers to pour in the money.
