>> No.12884884

If you want the red pill then here you go. Single Men get layoff first. But Men with wife and kids stay because the importance of money. Simple enough.

complete total and utter politics, my friend. C level execs sit in a room with an HR director and they all review lists of nonessential personnel recommendations that have been handed up to them by middle managers on their request. sometimes they bring in an "HR consulting firm" or "productivity consulting firm" to help them. if you're ever asked to do a weird survey that asks about who you talk to in the office and your "productivity style" and shit like that that's a huge red flag, try to be as bloomerfag on that as possible, that means they've hired a firm to help them make those decisions.

at the end of the day it depends on how much your manager and the other higher ups like you and the color of your skin and what's between your legs. shaniqua is unfireable no matter what she does.

Typically it's your boss's boss and an HR rep, I'm just the coordinator. Right now we've giving away a pretty sweet severance package - I almost raised my hand to be let go.

somewhat true, we certainly can't get rid of all of the shaniquas. once a list is formed it's sent to for legal/compliance review where they make sure that we're not getting rid of all of the old/brown/female employees

Plus the ones close to retirement, they are quick to go too. They can be put on early retirement or get some compensation, I don't know how they say it in English.

>No kids
>Paid well
>Can replace with new contractor

Dying company needs to save. It will die slowly.
Some fire high paid boomers but firing close to retirement gets bad publicity. What happened to Walmart eliminating greeters? Groups are boycotting them.

So, if you are 20s or 30s getting paid well, no kids, guess what

Dunno.
The company I work for could crash to the ground tomorrow and I would neet a bit at home. Then I simply get another job, as soon as I want to work again.

Comfy life as a business analyst with good coding and database skills.

Question - severance packages - why? You afraid of getting sued for wrongful termination? I don't fully understand why severance is a thing if it's not in the employment contract.

Why not just offer to reduce wages so they become worth their wage? For some people losing a job could mean foreclosing on their home.

It creates goodwill for your company. If times are tough and you have to be let go, future employees will think that the company is doing what they can to keep employees happy. It also eliminates a potential lawsuit from occurring. And generally, most companies won't get punished in the market as it is a short term expense.
