>I'm new to the stock market, what stocks should I buy?
Before you buy anything, make a brokerage account and read investopedia articles and/or the books in the OP list. If you don't have a broker, you can't buy stocks and if you blindly buy things without understanding how the stock market works or doing any research on the individual stocks you're buying, you will lose money and it will be entirely your fault.

Wut? Is resistance. Resistance just means price point an index or individual stonk has difficulty surmounting for whatever reason. A resistance can sometimes become a support once the thing has broken above then retraced back to that approximate price. Support means price an index or stonk is more likely to hold above based on past chart patterns.

Vti is an etf. You can only buy whole shares and it's price changes during the market day so can time it easier potentially.

Vtsax is an index funds. You can buy partial shares so if you are regularly contributing per week or month it's a better choice. Contributions buy the end of day price so less timing.

Same expense and same market tracking.

But even vti will buy partial shares with dividend reinvestment.

Vtsax would be better to get every last dollar invested there, yes. Vtsax will still have it's own share price so your broker app or website should be able to tell you the cost basis for your purchases. VTI will have a separate share price that you won't need.

So all you need to know is how many shares of vtsax you own and at what price it was purchased and any subsequent dividends you will have to add into your spreadsheet. That pays out dividends once a quarter I believe.

I guess when evading is so easy there's not much that can be done to keep the cancer out without implementing account registration and/or a paywall.
If you would just post with a tripcode then people who aren't interested in your role play could filter you and you wouldn't have to evade so many bans.
The only reason not to post with a trip is because you don't WANT people to be able to filter you, which makes your behavior not just rude but malicious.
Let the rangebans commence.

I asked this once here and no one replied which makes me wonder how much skill /biz/ actually has.
The things I look at are:
P/E
Divi
On the charts:
MACD
Rsi
Momentum
Volume
And news, rivals and history are also important I also research the field their in to ensure the product or service is something that can take off.
PLUG air my most recent venture after the shill posted some interesting info and now I’m kinda wondering why this hasn’t popped yet it’s undervalued and the RSI is hitting overbought territory and I’m hoping this brings a huge wave of investors considering their volume is super high meaning liquid and that reduces volatility.
Another good measure to look at is earnings and see how they have been over the course of the last quarters.

1/Boot Barn (BOOT) is a $700 million operator of a lifestyle retail chain devoted to western and work-related footwear, apparel and accessories.

In its most recent quarterly report from February 5, management raised its fiscal 2019 earnings guidance in the range of $1.31-$1.33, up from the prior view of $1.16-$1.24, representing an astounding 90% advance this year.

This prompted analysts to raise FY2020 EPS from $1.47 to $1.51, representing 13.6% growth. In addition to opening two new stores last quarter, company plans during the current fiscal year to open 18 new stores are more than halfway there with 11 openings in the nine months ending Dec 29, 2018.

In all, BOOT offers growth and value with a forward P/E under 17X and a price-to-sales ratio under 1.0 as 2019 will see revenues eclipse $800 million.

2/Casey's General Stores (CASY) operates roughly 2,100 convenience stores in 16 midwestern states.
While gasoline sales are the most visible part of the operation, it's the groceries, snacks and drinks that really drive profits.
In the most recent quarter, fuel sales accounted for 64% of total gross revenues, but because of razor thin margins of just 20 cents/gallon (7.3%), fuels only contributed 23% of net revenues - after the cost of goods sold. In comparison, Groceries sold at gross margins of 32% and Prepared Food and Fountain Drinks enjoyed gross margins of 64%.
Not only has the share price been climbing steadily over the past 15 years, it was also minimally affected by the financial crisis in 2008, recovering all of the lost value by the middle of 2009.

6/Telenav (TNAV) is a provider of location-based services, or LBS, including voice guided navigation, on mobile phones.
The company has beaten the Zacks Consensus Estimate in each of the last four quarters with an average surprise of 23.7%.
Let's start with the report that came four quarters ago, a 1 cent beat for a 1.6% positive earnings surprise. Then a 4 cent beat for a 6.8% positive earnings surprise. That was followed by an 8 cent beat for a 36% positive earnings surprise and finally the most recent quarter saw a 6 cent beat for a 50% positive earnings surprise.
You can see that the size of positive earnings surprise just keeps getting bigger. At the same time, the loss per share has moved from $0.60 to $0.06. It looks like profitability is right around the corner.

7/Tandem Diabetes Care (TNDM) is a $2.7 billion medical device company that designs, develops, and commercializes products for people with insulin-dependent diabetes.
Products include the t:slim Insulin Delivery System, which just got a big technology upgrade and an FDA approval last week.
TNDM shares were already in the upper realms of the Zacks Rank before the expected announcement because the current sales ramp had analysts raising their earnings estimates with the 2019 consensus rising over 75% to a loss of just 77 cents.
This follows full-year 2018 EPS expected to come in near a loss of $3.22 (Tandem reports for Q4 on 2/26), which would also be 75% growth from 2017's loss of $12.87. So far, the price action in the stock since February 14 has been solid, with strong buying volume pushing shares to within 50 cents of last September's 52-week high at $52.55.

yeah sometimes the best way to learn about investing and options is to jump right in.
The price of an option is based on factors like time until expiration and implied volatility; you should read about those and then try and watch how they effect the price of the contracts. There is more to it than the price of the underlying asset going up or down.

Also if you make money off of one or two or even ten early option buys, don't let it go to your head. Also don't fall behind on a position and keep doubling down. Either way you can lose all your money. the important thing is to control the risk so that you can stay in the market and continue to learn

You might make money on those apple puts.
You might also see the option price go up over the next couple of days, but then you don't sell it and it goes down next week and you still lose. or the price moves a bit and you sell but then it spikes. You never know, so there is the added factor of controlling your emotions while in a position that get can result in more serious gains or loss. so you have to learn the math behind the options and learn about controlling your emotions at the same time
