It's about centralized power, and it will get more totalitarian to preserve that power, but it's coming out of capitalist rather than socialist intentions. Of course, socialists have entered an unholy alliance with the elites in flooding the West with migrants, printing more money and so on, but the end goals probably differ (this also applies to Islam as a third growing political force that also shares goals like no nations no borders, etc.)
