Flowerpatch is a browser-based cannabis farming & cryptocurrency MMORPG currently in development. Players will manage their virtual farms through planting and harvesting cannabis crops. The FLOWER tokens (cards) - acquired through market purchases, player trades, harvesting, and breeding - are used by players to plant new and potentially unique flowers on their farms.

The breeding system is now active; it enables players to breed FLOWER cards in attempts to gain desirable traits in unique offspring FLOWERs. Randomization algorithms may also grant offspring stats or traits not found on its parents.

Harvesting a flower may yield SEED or NUG tokens and potentially a FLOWER card.
SEED tokens will be used as in-game currency to purchase additional farming land, better farming equipment, and other items.
NUG tokens will be redeemable (like vouchers/gift cards) in the real world for cannabis, at supported cannabis dispensaries (in areas where recreational cannabis is legal).

Inspired by farming games like Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley, and Minecraft (farming/botany addons), we are hoping to make the best multi-player farming game and the best cannabis game. Well for starters, you're conflating our two tokens SEED, and NUG token together.

You're right that NUG token will be used as a cannabis-gift card to redeem cannabis at a local (legal) dispensary. SEED token, on the other hand, will be "mined" by growing & harvesting FLOWERs as I mentioned. NUG will purely be a nice "cherry on top" for playing the game, in the form of weed. SEED will be much more important, as the game economy will be centered around it. Players will buy & sell their in-game items for SEED, and SEED will be openly traded on exchanges.

No Dave, we're not pushing some kind of MLM pyramid scam where the price is "designed" to rise. That would be stupid, because it would mean we're building a scam instead of a game.

We sell flowers as cheap as $1, and FLOWERs will be necessary to enjoy the full features of the game. Think about this as OSRS membership, but cheaper (you will be able to experience all of Flowerpatch for much less than $5 a month). That said, we also sell "uniques" which introduce unique genetics to the gene pool, should someone buy it. This is interesting because only the buyer will control what happens to this trait. They could decide to either sell the offspring or keep it all for themselves. We don't count on it, but our first ever unique flower, Archangel is being sold for 420ETH.

The 420 ETH card is pretty much a joke. They do not expect anyone to actually buy it. If someone did buy it, they'd be funding development of the game. You'd honestly be better off buying some epics, or even two of the other legendaries, and just breeding those FLOWERs to get more rares/epics/legendaries.

You'll be able to play the game even with a single Common Shrub - it's all about how much you'd like to support the team and how involved you'd like to get in breeding and going for the rarest types of cards.

Think of it this way: there are kickstarter funded game projects that have those $10,000 backer tiers, which give you a bunch of bonus stuff. But really - that bonus stuff doesn't usually equate to $10k in actual value; it's there so you can fund the project you believe in. You should look at the 420 card the same way. There will only ever be one of them, and you'd be funding the project with a very large investment.

And again: a better strategy would be to buy the other legendaries and breed them.
