Defined as coins that inspire the imagination and make minds go wild:

>The castle-in-the-air theory delves deep into another aspect of investing behaviour - it tries to unravel and understand the psychic values and behaviour of the group of investors. This theory was made popular in 1936 by John Maynard Keynes, a famous economist (as also an investor) and the theory postulates that the investors try to build a sort of castles in the air and think of the probable price rise in the future than estimating the intrinsic values of stocks.

I would imagine the criteria for cryptocurrencies would be as such:

>Origin: US or Asian (preferably Chinese and Korean)
>Concept: Broad (Platform, Blockchain 3.0, Hashgraph, IoT, etc.)
>Strong presentation (marketing, whitepapers, partnerships, team, website, logo, name, etc. Anything vapid, really)
>Launches on a chain with strong liquidity (only example today would be erc-20)

A bad example would be WYS. A token born out of Europe focused exclusively on "shopping" -- garbage. Of course, it was shilled on /biz/, like most garbage.

So let's cut through the noise: what are some true CITAs? I'll give my first take:

Chia
>based in the US
>created by Bram Cohen, the founder of BitTorrent and suspected creator of Bitcoin
>concept: in a nutshell, Bitcoin without the detrimental environmental effects
>launching on its own chain

My headcannon is that Bram feels immense guilt for contributing to global warming with BTC and is now attempting to rectify this. In any event, once this coin launches, I expect a massive wave of interest as it solves the only true negative caused by PoW.

An obvious choice considering where we are. Holochain and Hedera also fit the bill.

Yeah you have to be sub-20 IQ to even be asking this. Clearly the 'singularity', 'trillion-dollar derivatives market' and '4th industrial revolution' memes surrounding LINK are exactly what you are describing - a luridly utopian vision of LINK's far-future influence that is enabled by the extremely broad use-case that LINK encompasses (anything involving smart contracts + data feeds). It doesn't have 'strong presentation' in the sense of hype marketing, but it more than makes up for it with autistic breadcrumb trails which stimulate the imagination much better than an 'announcement of an announcement' ever could.
