>I'm new to the stock market, what stocks should I buy?
Before you buy anything, make a brokerage account and read investopedia articles and/or the books in the OP list. If you don't have a broker, you can't buy stocks and if you blindly buy things without understanding how the stock market works or doing any research on the individual stocks you're buying, you will lose money and it will be entirely your fault.

while etf's have there place the payout rate sucks compared to stocks. ETF's = paid once a year. Stocks = most pay out 4x a year; plus most are cheaper than ETFs to get into so you can get more Fat Divvy's for your dollar compared to ETF's. But ETF's give you broader coverage so if that company stock shits your not left penny less. My take = load up on Fat Divvy Stocks whose companies won't be going anywhere for a long time. Then for the short term gains (Profits) load up on bio stocks or Weed for the risky part.

In case the subtly is lost on you, the timescale for a crash is on the order of months, not days. The reason that report is concerning is because it means that, for whatever reason, earnings may be declining in a situation of higher labor costs and high amounts of leverage. If you're smart you'll make 4%+ a trade. Go all in the first trade and keep going. Never take losses past 4% either. You'll win some, you'll lose some. In a bull market your wins will exceed the losses.

was a Chinese warlord and the penultimate Chancellor of the Eastern Han dynasty who rose to great power in the final years of the dynasty. As one of the central figures of the Three Kingdoms period, he laid the foundations for what was to become the state of Cao Wei and ultimately the Jin dynasty, and was posthumously honoured as "Emperor Wu of Wei". He is often portrayed as a cruel and merciless tyrant in subsequent literature; however, he has also been praised as a brilliant ruler and military genius who treated his subordinates like his family.

except that's wrong. you shouldn't believe everything you read on 4chan. Sanders doesn't have some fancy car, and his family got a lakehouse with his wife's inheritance. Compared to pretty much everyone else in the running he's a remarkably honest man.

But, besides virtue, which is actually a rather vapid thing to base your support off of, his programs will actually do quite a lot to steer capitalism away from the external limits which will possibly disrupt humanity as a whole, and towards the internal limit of the falling rate of profit.

Socialism isn't about living an ascetic life or taking a vow of poverty. It's not about redistributing nice clothes or TVs. Everyone would like to live comfortably given the chance. Capitalism requires recession and competition to evolve. That's why they occur and why better products are made through technological innovations driven by desires for efficiency and making something better than some one else. If a company goes bankrupt it's the CEO's fault and they take full responsibility. Socialism has replicated itself through out history and failed every fucking time. >Socialism has replicated itself through out history and failed every fucking time.
Socialism industrialized the second world where capitalism had largely failed. Capitalism requires an outside to colonize, but eventually you run out of countries for imperialism.

Any economic system uses the full range of human prejudices in one perverse way or another to justify itself. You learn very little about that system through such ideological justifications.

This is in large part why I moved on from the left. Some time in 2014 or so the crazy really started to hit. The last several years have crystallized the viewpoint on the left that the problems they experience as individuals and as groups are someone else's fault. Feminism blames men. Fat positivity blames societal shaming. Racial groups blame whites. Deviant sexual groups blame society. All of this based on deliberately slanted viewpoints and zero science/statistics that weren't slanted to begin with.

The right isn't rainbows and sunshine but its not as stupid nor as vindictive about what they perceive as inequities.

Back during the Bush years I hated republicans with a passion. Now I watch the proud stupidity of people like AOC run off Amazon, Bernie not able to provide even a rough draft of how he could pay for his Neverland American future, and every single leadership figure not able to get beyond the black and white 'Who' did what to 'Whom' mindset.

I know its become a thing to rail against capitalism but that was never the problem. No system works great when the people at the top are disconnected sociopaths. Capitalism is still the best system and considering no one can elucidate a coherent vision of how to move away from it its a pipedream for the young and stupid to think it will be toppled.

The real reason people aren't doing so well is that they are financially illiterate and religion's ability to provide a sense of purpose to men was never adequately replaced. The left tries and fails with environmentalism as a quasi relgion. Entertainment, business, and vice poison the void instead of filling it. Tards blame capitalism.

The sun swallowing up earth is something we deal with on the time scale of millions of years. Climate change, mass extinction, these are things we're dealing with on the scale of decades and centuries.

>There has always been a black market
The black market wasn't what was responsible for industrial policy.

>capitalist approach
In the sense that they were pursuing industrializing in the first place.

>also if you think they industrialized and managed to feed everybody and make life a eutopia look at venezuela, USSR, north korea, and tell me they have/had enough food.
The USSR had food security in the postwar period, and had higher caloric intake than the US. Venezuela is still a mostly private sector economy and north korea removed communism from its official line years ago. Cuba, however, as another example, also has caloric intake on par with developed countries and beats about places like Denmark.

Yeah no kidding, did you ever maybe think we should try to avoid being one those species that gets left behind in the fossil record. It's almost always the animals at the top of the food chain that don't make it.

>Free markets create lower prices and more competition
Competition naturally leads to consolidation where you have economies of scale. Those economies of scale don't fit nicely into the framework of free markets.

But beyond that this just isn't about price gouging, this is about who gets to coordinate production. If you can't see the decay and rot at the heart of those devoted to "creative business" out in silicon valley there's no helping you. Nor is it just a figment of government regulation that prices of healthcare, housing and education are sky rocketing, except in the sense that the government has refused to act in any meaningful way.

Now that we've got that out of the way, exactly which "Government owned corporations" are "relatively competent"? USPS is the only one that comes close, but since they lose more and more money every year who's going to call that competent? Also how competent is it for a government owned company which only offers services in the US to have a sports team that only competes outside the US? Next up is the DMV, they only exist because of government regulation and that we're stuck using them with no other option. A private corporation could at least help you in under an hour. Fannie/Freddie? Eat a dick on that one, they were at the center of 2008 thanks to the fact that they are too close to the government and the fact that democrats thought that loaning money to unemployed minorities was helping said minorities. >Fannie/Freddie? Eat a dick on that one, they were at the center of 2008 thanks to the fact that they are too close to the government
They only became government owned /after/ the crisis, if they were a properly government owned corporation they would have been subject to far higher standards then they were.

>Amtrack? Hasn't made money in decades, no one uses it.
Amtrack had over 30 million customers in 2016, I use it several times a year and it's a great service. I don't know anyone who uses it who's ever spoken ill of it. It would hardly be any better if it was privatized, as the people of the UK would be welcome to tell you.

Other government corporations you've failed to consider include the Tennessee Valley Authority, which is very popular among its users, the FDIC, which does a very good job as an insurance company, Ginnie Mae, which is the wholly government owned version of Freddie and Fannie, is well liked and competent at what they do and even in darkest moments of the financial crisis they never missed a single debt payment.

If industry really would have embraced all the technologies that the EPA demanded of them because of the CAA, then we would have heard zero complaining from them in the first place. But we all know that's not true.

As a logistics fag, your best hope to make much of XPO is them being bought out one day. They don't want to get into the e-commerce/HDA stuff enough and instead focus on linehauling. They don't seem to realize every major logistics player is working their damndest to eliminate linehauls/forwarders entirely and instead build up their own in-house network. They had a great run for awhile, and I almost worked for them several times over their rise the last 5 years or so, but imo their current direction as a company is flawed.

Yep. Plebbit, too. Their weedstock board occasionally has news posts about lesser known small caps without (sometimes) potential. Pic related is one I found browsing through all the junk. Crop Infrastructure. The company mainly leases greenhouses to dude weed startups. Range is tightening up lately. I was in for a brief flip late December but never established any kind of serious long on it. I will if I see a bull break out of this range it's currently in.

I don't think real assets like real estate are in that much of a bubble. It look's like the next major asset crash will be when boomers drain their mutual funds in their 401k in the next 5 years. This upcoming recession looks more likely to be hyper inflationary than real estate bubble. Most millennials still can't buy real estate, they'll provide the floor at it's lowest possible point.

>This upcoming recession looks more likely to be hyper inflationary than real estate bubble.
Inflation rate has been going down though.

https://tradingeconomics.com/united-states/inflation-cpi

I think the upcoming recession comes from over supply and little demand. With rising interest rates you will most likely see a few things happen. One is people will start selling off excess assets in order to pay off debts. Most people won't be stacking on debt to buy assets in a rising interest rate environment, the people that do won't be able to get as big of a loan for lets say a house..causing house prices to drop in order to "find a market" Another thing that will contribute to over supply is boomers retiring or dieing off and basically selling their excess assets to maybe downsize since their kids should be moved out.. the problem is millenials (the next generation of home owners) aren't really interested in buying big houses and don't even have the ability to buy a house right now with all their student loans. theres many things that I think could happen.

Also theres already people speculating that corporate debt is in danger of defaulting causing a domino effect of business going under and losing employees.. There was an article out not long ago of some chinese corporations already defaulting on bond payments.

Dollar is going to go through a short squeeze, all this debt that needs to get paid off means that people will be needing the cash in order to pay off the debt.. thus creating a higher demand for the dollar rather than creating debt for assets

I got lost in writing this.. hope it came out somewhat ok..
