I don't see why not. Whilst they have certain products that compete they've also all got vastly other different markets that they're really targeting which they dominate in unconstested against eachother.
I'm interested in comp tech quite abit so I know even though intel and amd are CPUs. Intel also has alot of other fields they have moved into and even if intel steals some of their market they'll manage to get back in the groove in a few years. During that time they have other markets to support them. Just as AMD has managed so far even though their GPUs suck balls but they've got the console market in their pocket with Xbox and Sony buying their GPUs.
And you've got Nvidia that's just a juggernaut and even if AMD manages to pull something amazing off with their upcoming Navi it'll take time to grab significant marketshare and Nvidia has got their deeplearning and self driving car bullshit among other things.
Honestly they've all got growth in their future so I see no reason not to put in money.

here's what a lot of people don't understand about UBI, it itself is rent, and in most forms one imposed by citizenship. The classic question is do you want money rent or rent in-kind. Adam Smith noted that anyone who receives rent will want it in kind so it doesn't decrease in value over time.

So what does an effective UBI look like in real terms, in terms of commodities? Well, in order to maintain a basic standard of living you need a certain amount of goods which changes rather slowly over time. You need food, shelter, clothes, water, ect. Now consider these goods as surplus production in the classical sense: in order to provide for someone else you must produce enough for yourself plus a surplus equivalent to what stock needs to be consumed by that other person. What automation does, then, in real terms, is constantly decrease the labor required for that surplus.

UBI in real terms is therefor quite a simple thing, the amount of labor required to meet the basic needs of the population is actually rather small compared to the total labor employed in the economy. The cost to nationalize those industries, or turn some of them into consumer owned cooperatives, and subsidize the amount required for basic sustenance will be MUCH smaller than the dollar cost amount of paying for it all as is while at the same time ensuring that you never loose value do to inflation because people are being paid out in terms of quantities of commodities instead of quantities of money.

I've been reading as much as I can about the Department of Commerce's report on retail numbers this afternoon and something seems fucky. It doesn't jive with the earnings several retail heavy companies have posted for Q4 2018. With this kind of alleged pullback I would have expected to see at least a few of the big retail stocks miss earnings by a significant percentage. There was no forecast from any independent analyst, even the perma-bear ones, for retail miss of this magnitude.

Walking feels fine to me, most of the time. I randomly get chest pains that sometimes come on and off. Sometimes left-side chest/left armpit/left arm pain, sometimes right-sided chest pain, or right-arm pain, sometimes lower chest/top-abdomen pain that happens when I breathe out. Fully aware that I'm unhealthy and likely have a hard plaque blockage or something.

Whoa, don't do that. Just cut back the calories a ways and start exercising. You don't need any gym equipment to exercise. Youtube has tons of tutorials on home workouts with no equipment required. Most important thing to start is to get your heart rate up for about 15 minutes once a day, then increase after a couple weeks as your body adapts to the extra exertion. It's really important not to jump in with vigorous exercise and drastic diets. You'll just feel like death and quit if you do it that way.

Just started measuring fasting blood glucose in the mornings too and found out if I skip workouts for a few days OR workout consistently but drink soda for more than 3 days I basically become prediabetic. I recommend cycling (buy a cheap bike and ride outside or commute), or rowing at a gym since youll probably fuck up your knees running, and walking is just not intense enough unless you do it for hours.
