They're not an investment, they're a compounding liability. The more earning power you have the less appealing of a prospect long term relationships and especially marriage becomes. There is a specific point in anyone's earning power and net-worth where it mathematically is a better proposition to live by a strict "permanently single" policy.

This is due to the inputs of a woman aging and losing appeal, the novelty of her wearing off in general, the scaling nature of the cost of marriage and alimony (and relationships for that matter), and the opportunity cost of what you're missing out on by committing to one woman. As your earning power goes up, a relatively small percent of your overall finances allow you to secure sex with most women, in some cases top of the line pussy.

At the same time though women become more expensive over time because they escalate their demands for resources both finances and time. In other words they draw you away from maximizing your earning power and maximizing your pussy on one end while simultaneously scaling their financial demands on the wealth you already have acquired. It doesn't take a lot of examination to see the almost axiomatic nature of this.

Marriage and "women as an investment" makes sense when you're poor and have nothing to lose, are unappealing and thus your opportunity cost is low by committing, have no prospective earnings power growth OR when you are ludicrously wealthy and you are uniting powerful households and combined fortunes to build dynastic wealth. If you want kids, again, at a certain level of earning power it's cheaper to do it outside of marriage. There is no way around this. It's the optimal strategy the parameters imposed on the system have created.
