It can't scale because it has an artificial 1mb block limit. Study what happened in December 2017 when the market took off. Why do you throw money into a dead end asset? You deserve to lose your money.

yeah because adoption is still at around 0.0053% which is fucking nothing. once we reach a few% adoption rate people will be in no more hurry to convert to fiat at a "good" price.

If you want Bitcoin to be valuable, it obviously has to be usable and scalable. Price action is dependent on network effect and adoption. The reason the price is tanking is because it has no future - it is a sabotaged chain due to block limit. Right now only traders who speculate on volatility are making any money, while long term investors are getting fucking destroyed as price keeps tanking.

If you want to get rich in crypto, invest in a project that can and will scale aggressively. BTC is a technological dead end.

>> No.12690895

Great job! I’m currently at 0.35, but with this kind of volatility I believe I can get there some day as long as I practice proper risk management

>it is a sabotaged chain due to block limit
actually the block limit will be increased this is a 100% certainty. but it will be done in a consensus manner not a hissy-fit fork to a useless shitcoin.

there is a problem with that, projects that can scale aggressively always sacrifice from the core tenets of crypto.

The altcoin hype mania is starting to die off already, as people are realizing that hardly any of the tech is good, most are just illegal ponzis, failed projects or pump and dumps.

The reason is this: all the technology is shit. The fundamentals are shit. There is still no project that has solved global scaling yet, and only very few are even working on realistic solutions.

This is why BTC will die, and all the altcoins will die with it. The entire space is getting fucking destroyed right now BECAUSE there is only hype and speculation and NO WORKABLE TECHNOLOGY.

Only one coin will rise from the ashes and moon 1000x and dominate the entire market again, and that will be the coin that solves scaling without sacrificing anything else (speed, security, decentralization, proof of work).

That coin is simply Bitcoin 0.1 as it was originally intended, but with artificial scaling limit removed. That coin is also the one that is attacked the most, from every market competitor. It's pretty obvious which one it is.

BTC block limit will never be increased. The people who make this decision (Blockstream) are the same ones who made sure it was the 1mb limit was enforced to begin with. They actually popped champagne and CELEBRATED when the network got totally congested and became unusable as a payment network. The entire mission goal of Blockstream is to sabotage on-chain scaling and hamstring the network to prevent global adoption. They also implemented aids in the code that can never be reversed (Segwit) so yep BTC is 100% a technological dead end. Get out before you lose all your money because the price will continue to tank.

>BTC block limit will never be increased.
you must be a fool to think that. blockstream can't hold btc hostage any more than you can.

psst, BCH and BSV are altcoins to most everyone.
I also think BTC shit the bed, but more altcoins will work than whichever one you are talking about.

>> No.12691047

btw here is how it would look like to roll back segwit:
>proposal for rolling back segwit soft fork accepted
>deadline set after which segwit rules are no longer enforced (ie breaking them makes the block still valid)
>miners signal for accepting proposal
>users rush to get the fuck out of segwit wallets to legacy wallets by the deadline
>only segwit wallets with private keys lost remain
>time comes, clients updated, code is reverted segwit removed
>any segwit transaction is up for grabs by the miners from this point on

it's very far from unremoveable, but it's easier to just not fucking use it and don't expect miners to enforce the rules anymore so i doubt anyone would bother to thoroughly obliterate it.

No, the only coin that will be worth anything long term is one that scales globally. The market will only realize this fact once they can longer bear the pain of losing all their money in shitcoins. The shitcoins are all coins that can't scale, including BTC. If you have any money invested in the market in the last year, you don't need me to tell you that your wallet is burning.

We are already in the process of a complete revaluation of prices, but still some ways off from rock bottom. The pain only gets worse from here, not better. BTC will approach triple digit valuations this year, and all shitcoins will see similar losses.

BSV is not an altcoin. It is simply Bitcoin 0.1 with no artificial scaling limit. But this time with patents so clueless devs can't hijack the project and turn it into shit.

Enjoy the mayhem, 2019 will be a lot of fun.

how a fucking brainlet you must be to think we should scale on chain. it makes absolute no sense to record every little tx on chain if it were to become a global payment system.

>>12691176
wait you said it can't be removed, now you saying it won't the two is not the same. at all. i just told you how easy it is to remove it or ignore it as defunct code. also blockstream can not hold an opensource development and the general consensus hostage. that's ridiculous.

i disagree tho it would be awesome, and it's probably doable too. just not the way blokchain is today. give it time tho this shit is in it's infancy.

for example it would not be so hard to prune the blockchain regularly like dropping the history after n confirmations (say 100) and mutually agreeing that history at that point is safely set. (this of course requires to write the complete utxo set on the blockchain in regular intervals) and only keep the merkle root tree that validates the first live utxo block...
