T sank to under 30 per. But the earning report was nothing that was not expected. When you crunch the numbers as a whole they actually made a decent pile of cash. So long term they will be fine; things are playing out exactly as they (T management) wanted. Which is using this year to focus on paying down the debt and 5G rollout. They are making profit and have a plan to keep generating profit, pay down the debt and keep the fat div intact and maybe hike it some more. So yes while the stock price is lower, who cares? Keeping the fat div intact and generating profit is more important than the stock price. I see it as an opportunity; load up on T stock while it's cheap as shit.

Im using td e-series index. The mers are a bit higher .32-.5 but there are no trading fees and no minimum. They offer enough diversity for me s&p, nasdaq, dow, tsx, msci eafe, msci europe and canadian bond index.

Yours is much better but still too complex for me. I try to stick to 5 holdings max as re-balancing a 1.2% asset can be annoying. I don't hold international bonds and stick to my home country for fixed income. International bonds are fine for diversification but they have to be currency hedged or else you can get destroyed on currency fluctuation. The problem is you are diversifying by buying more stuff, instead of buying things that contain more stuff. The downside of your approach is you are over complicating for no benefit which will make it harder for you to stick to your plan. Holding 3 US indexes is not diversification. It is over weighting yourself with the overlap of the indexes. A total stock market ETF and a bond ETF is more diversified than you. You don't need to hold Europe and MSCI EAFE in two different products. MSCI EAFE has Europe. By holding both you are over weighting Europe. The only reason to do this would be if you suspect Europe will outperform in the future.

XGRO is also good choice as it is bit cheaper than VGRO and has the additional US weighting. VGRO/XGRO is probably the best idea. This is just my opinion. There are benefits to dropping one fund solution. These benefits are not worth it in small accounts, but in very large accounts things like foreign withholding tax on dividends will start to add up. You could offset this by holding US listed ETFs in your RRSP. This is not possible with VGRO. I have seen people with 500k+ accounts only hold VGRO because of behavioral issues. VGRO is worth it if you can't stick to disciplined plan. If you start to tinker with asset %'s, or start trying to time the market then you should stick with VGRO forever.

Many people try to do what you are attempting and fail. I would recommend you define an asset allocation and stick to it. Perhaps the 50/25/25 you mentioned before. Buy products in this allocation. Re-balance them according to some rule (ex. once a year) to remain in this allocation. Re-balancing will force you to sell the better performing ones and purchase the worse performing ones. This will force you to buy low and sell high.

I just started investing in September and I am just kind of having fun with it right now but acknowledge I am probably not doing the greatest job but part of what is keeping me interested is the action. So having a little "fun" with it is maybe a bit costly but not as costly as becoming bored with it.
