it doesn't matter what you think. that's not your job in trading. your opinion is worthless. your job is to anticipate what most people will do. in an event of an economic slowdown, gold will get bought and in the case of xau/usd when usd is also going down, you're hitting both sides with a long gold.
just keep an eye on the PMIs and other leading indicators and you will have the data to fuel your position. and as you can see, no talking-head or opinion is needed.
stop trading with your emotions. fucking girly boys

No.

People will continue to accept paper money unless civilisation collapses, and if that happened you've got bigger problems to worry about. But it's not going to happen anyway because we're too advanced now, we've transcended the old world

You fucking idiots. The dollar value of gold and silver is irrelevant. There's not bear market.

A gold ounce is savings and an investment. If you earned a gold ounce 800 years ago and lived 800 more years you can still buy the same shit today as you could 800 years ago when you earned it.

Gold and silver just sit there. It's dollar price going up like a stock is a bad thing because that just means the dollar is becoming less valuable.

You MAKE IT with silver and gold when there's a currency reset or gold revaluation. Silver shoots up to 500$/oz and a median priced home worth 200k today is now worth 50k and then a measly 100 ounces of silver buys you a home without a mortgage.

Like the old story of the hotel bellcap in Weimar Republic Germany who had a mere 25 ounces of gold saved up wagecuking. And then after hyperinflation he was able to buy an entire city block

2008 never ended. All that happened was the fed did the exact same thing that caused the housing crisis to begin with instead on a grander scale with 0% interest rates instead of 1% interest rates which caused the collapse.

We are in the biggest bubble in human history now.... the fed is out of bullets tho now.

Once this shit collapses the 2008 crisis will resume except it'll be a huge catastrophe now since we are much more in debt.

if we let the 2008 collapse fix itself with the free market there would have been substantial pain. But instead they doped us up even more cheap money. And when this shit implodes it'll be a fucking catastrophe.

You can't have 0% interest rates much less for a decade and not have it end in economic ruin

The housing crisis never caused the collapse. The collapse of sub prime lending caused the collapse. A risk management failure.
The housing crisis which we have today is a totally different issue, and yes you're right about how it was caused, but there's no reason for it to collapse.

Central banks printing money to buy houses, doesnt create a "bubble", it creates a permanent transfer of wealth to those who receive the freshly printed money. There isnt going to be a "pop" and all that wealth rushes back to you. Thats not how it works.

This is not what happened in the run up to 2008. Sorry you are just wrong.

In my opinion we should have hung the bankers and had a Debt jubilee rather than a bailout, but that ship has sailed. We're in a different situation entirely now. No collapse is coming.

>> No.12577950

>>12577920
Well sure of course you can buy more with it today. I mean if you told me that silver will be at 10$ in 6 months of course I'd wait to buy. Problem is the currency reset will be sudden. So it's better to be early and maybe have a few less ounces than not have any at all.

You don't even need much to make it. 500 ounces will be equal to probably 20 years worth of days wages when the reset happens. Since a silver piece the size of a silver dime used to be a days wage for most of human history.

14 silver dimes equal an ounce of silver. 500 ounces of silver equals like 7,500 days worth of wages.

Some shmuck selling insurance today making 200$ in fiat a day is making the equivalent of like 13 ounces of silver a day if he converts his fiat to silver.

That flies in the face of all economic historical reality by a long shot.

A silver ounce 900 years ago is still that same silver ounce of stored economic energy today.

Silver isn't gaining value it's just the dollar that will be falling. Everyone becomes say 60% poorer than they are right now and you own silver an actual real asset and real savings and your wealth increases exponentially for holding.

Like in Venezuela where 1 ounce of silver buys a few months of food on the black market. If someone bought a silver ounce 10 years ago it was probably 30 bolivars or whatever... not expensive...

Today that 30 bolivars doesn't buy you shit but that silver ounce that used to cost 30 bolivars now buys you a lot of food

Also, dont buy anything less than 20 and only buy in clean numbers, 20, 40, 100, 500 etc. because you want the mint tubes so they are corrosion/damage resistant. If more capital buy mini monster or monster boxes because its the most cost efficient. ASE’s during the trump admin will have superior meme value in less than a decade. Coins are for premium value/rarity and appreciate over time better than bars/rounds. Bars/rounds are strictly for more of the actual metal for you money. I buy ASE’s for more profit gains

Dont go in store you can get a better deal from online dealers like sdbullion. In store your prone to buying fake chinese silver. Most online dealers are trusted, get supply directly from the corresponding gov Mint and will reimburse you if the silver you got is fake.
>shipping costs
If you arent completely broke and buy more than $100 worth they will ship for free
>loss en route
kek’d

Youre much more likely to get ripped off from an instore dealer, they all sell at profits from bullion dealers.

What that anon said ^ is not true. There is a false premium on a variety of different coins, but you should seriously reconsider paying more for coins that are 'bullshit eagles' or whatever simply because you believe the secondary market will appreciate for them along with a rise in silver prices.
Silver is silver is silver.
Oftentimes when it starts to matter, meltdown value is the only thing that will be considered.
If you want to easily transfer your 'silver cash' into like real dollars that you can use to buy gas and shit, then you are better off hunting down the best deals on 999 silver rn, because no gold shop will give a fuck about the kind of bars.

These guys in my oppinion are akin to those Beanie Baby sellers that put up 50k/bear ads on ebay because it's kinda like a lottery ticket to them.
They're not worth more than any other bear, don't pay a premium for bullshit eagles anon.

Them having the 1$ value are meaningless, you just made my entire point, they will buy ASE’s at a premium above regular bars and rounds.

The point isnt meltdown value for ASE’s its the minted value, theyre a limited supply yearly coin. If you want smelt value just buy bars/rounds. You pay a premium for eagles because that premium will go up over time and easily double

Yep, time for me to pop up some hard facts for the silverfudders.

Most undervalued asset on the planet.
But it's price is suppressed by the jewish banking cartel. As long as they will control the globex market, the price wont move.
Historically gold : silver value ratio was 1:12, it's 1:82 today.
In the earth crust the ratio is 1:9 (1gr in each 12 tons).
On the surface, there are 6 oz of gold existing for only one of silver (because of its massive industrial use and the fact mining silver isn't worth it at the actual price).
There are 180 ounces of paper silver for each physical ounce on the exchange market.
Price of silver was the same in $ in 1918 than in 2018. Dollar meanwhile lost 98% of it's value.

It's the most shorted metal on the futures since 30 years.

>silver is the most conductive metal on earth (any electronic, army uses, LED, RFID, supercapacitors)
>fungicid, antibacterial & antimicrobial : most used metal by big pharma
>resist oxydation and corrosion
>the most reflective metal (solar panels, mirrors, photography, nuclear rods, skycrapper glasses)

During the 2008 crisis JPMorgan, the biggest bank in the world, bought Bear Stearns for pennies on the dollar after the CDO/CDS collapse for $1.9 billions.
They discovered something unusual : Bear Stearns was the biggest shorter of silver in the world, while on the other hand using a branch of the company to buy physical silver.
JP Morgan, continued the scam, intensifying it to new heigh. Starting in 2011, they accumulated 133 MILLIONS 1 oz coins with suppressed prices thanks to illimited creation of paper silver via the Globex (silver comex), iceberg calls and cancelled orders.

133 millions oz of physical is 8 times the biggest stack of silver ever collected on earth (previous record was set up by the Hunt brothers during the 80's when they tried to corner the silver market).

JPM is preparing something huge. I'm not sure what for the moment but i've my idea. Oh, and i forgot to mention they accumulated on behalf of the US government, which is the one keeping safe in warehouses the silver, and helped via the CFTC to avoid market's manipulation trials for JPM.

So we have :
- JPM creating worthless paper silver en masse to suppress the silver price
- JPM hoarding the biggest stack of silver ever
- the US treasury helping JPM in this scam
- a megagiant derivative, credit default swap, real estate, stocks, everything bubble about to pop
- the petrodollar hegemony currently being fucked up by the pretroyuan
- JPM buying the biggest specialist in PM, RBS Sempra (Royal bank of scotland-sempra) for 1.8 billions in 2010

You want my guess? I think the US is preparing to adopt the dollar convertibility in silver. The silver standard just in case SHTF to maintain a sort of confidence in the dollar.
If i'm right, silver will pump like it never did (well it alrdy did during the venetian banking cartel of the 12th century and the british east indian company during the opium wars where both empires adopted a silver standard to short gold and then accumulate it).

magine someone owns one ounce of gold they purchase for $500. At that point in time, the 500 federal reserve notes will buy an ounce of gold or various amounts of other commodities.

the value of the FRN drops, and suddenly it takes more of them to buy an ounce of gold. Gold has become more expensive in the sense it takes more FRN's to buy the ounce, but generally it will also take more to buy everything else...oil food, etc. People now see this with food and energy prices.

when the value of FRN's increases, it takes fewer to buy an ounce, but also fewer to buy the other commodities.

zero sum game.

Buy gold at 1900 and it drops to 1800? no difference, since the commodities we use and buy will also get cheaper, so the frn's "buy" more.

i'm telling you...it is impossible to make or lose money in gold and silver...but it is the PERFECT store of value.

>16.30€ for a maple leaf
Nah it's ok anon, not the most competitive price ever but close to spot price. It's very important for you to check the taxes imposed on silver in your country, for each country in the schengen space there are differents tariffs. For example i live in france and here the VAT is 0%, which is fucking comfy, but if you move in germany it's up to 7%, and if you are an anglo you get cucked by a 20% VAT.
It also change depending of the form : for example in France coins are 0% VAT but it suddently climb to 22% for bars... So obviously it's more interesting for frogs to get coins.
Check you legislation and buy in consequence. But if you also have a 0% VAT in netherlands 16.30 ain't too shaby. From the online dealer i usually order from they are at 16.00€ right now, so for each coin your dealer is stealing .30e more than mine, you can probably get better elsewhere. Also wait for a dip to make an order, all reputable sellers update every minute their price to follow the market, and block the prices at the time you clicked to take your order.
Be wary of shipment fees, some unscrupulous dealers try to take advantage from it and charge you a lot for the delivering. The best is to dig some forums from nl to see what ppl usually prefers and from which website they get the best prices.

This is stupid. You are literally making a case for not buying some fake chinese silver in a store, but you have no problem with someone not using information that could be used to challenge the sale in the event you're sold garbage, and using a form of payment that is literally untraceable so nobody will know whether you paid.

Anon, you are literally able to walk into a store with paper money, and buy silver for a price below the one stated online.

That's a real fucking thing.
SO again, I re-iterate, there is fucking ZERO reason to purchase online.
Go to a store, walk out with your fucking metals. You can negotiate, haggle, discuss, converse and talk with real fucking people who do this for a living, and you can conduct business the way people have for thousands of years.

The internet is better when it's cheaper. otherwise everybody knows it's far riskier to conduct business on it.
That's why amazon/ebay/baba are so big. Because among the garbage they have sold a trustworthy brand.

Silver is the most undervalued by far, but gold have more recognition. It really depends on tax legislation where you live and the amount of $ you want to invest in. Under 5k$ i would make a 10%-90% split gold-silver if i were you.
Worth noting China stockpilled gold and silver and Russia + India only gold. If to make the petroyuan hegemonic and attract investors China create a gold backed yuan, you win in either case since gold and silver will get reindexed.
Also worth mentioning for millenias only silver was used as money in China until the anglos came up and forced them to adopt gold as the standard via the east india company (anglos didn't had much the choice since they totally depleted the silver in europe because their trade balance was so fucking bad, they imported tons of tea each week and China wanted nothing but silver). It would be a giant "fuck you witto piggu"if they forced everyone to adopt a silver standard. But on the other hand they are very well aware the US are prepared to this option and have a huge stack of silver but 0 gold (knox refusing any audit, tungsten filled bars scams, mother boxes bonds never payed back etc). So maybe it's 4D chess and China want the US silver otherwise the US wont beableto pay off their huge debt anyway (US infrastructure isn't worth shit).

The incredible secret history of the bank Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena who controlled popes, emperors and half the holy roman empire who was infiltrated by falsery converted to catholicism jews and created fake crisis for accumulation purposes.

i'd say silver and copper. if your really low budget, even copper pennies might be good nuff. infact copper pennies (pre 1992-1996/ for canada/us) might do better than silver coin desu for bartering desu. most people won't know how to comprehand when approached with a 1 oz silver coin. first thing they might think is is it real/fake? 2nd they won't know the value right off the bat untill black market/ street price is well established. but copper pennies should raise less eyebrows as most people remember using them at one point in their life time, yet understand that copper has some real value in them while being less targeted by thugs.

but honestly, if you can afford gold, get some. nations respect gold after all. but dont be a retard and neglect crypto, fiat, pm & basic resources like food/water/medical shit. be wise my anon.

Bitcoin's intrinsic value (the only decentralized, unconfiscatable, hardest money ever invented) is agreed upon anyone with a brain and thus anyone that will matter in the following 50 years (the ones that don't being the ones that go bankrupt as they weren't bright enough to see it).

As for the ones still deep in dennial of the Keynesianism cult, what can I tell you? you are not going to make it.

The collapse of subprime was due to the interest rate hikes from the fed. Everything plowed along rosily until garbage town ARMs went sky high. The same thing is waiting to happen today. Everything, everyone, in every country in the world is deeply indebted, and the base interest rate is creeping up for the dollar, and thus the world. It's not a "risk management failure" when the basis of growth in the economy is debt and interest rates rise, but it was an enormous crime, happening concurrently.

No, they are not. The left bullion is OFFICIALLY registered as coinage and therefore doesn't fall under sales tax. The right one is just normal silver and is taxed at a normal rate. Can you read the stamp on the left one? "5 Dollars". I don't know if this law applies in your country tho, so do your own research. Also try to abuse the EU economic laws.

Asset prices usually take a big shit right at the start of a recession/depression before spiking up in value ( See 2008/ 2001 ).
If you want to leverage this information into profit, buy GLD and SLV during the onset, and pick up physical gold/silver only as a type of financial fire extinguisher as an insurance on the market/currency going Venezuela or Zimbabwe on you
( Good to have physical, not for profit, but for wealth protection, if you want profit, look at online shares options so you can actually make an profit opportunity when it presents itself, as with everything else, things come and go in cycles, implement this into a strategy that shorts market and goes long on market so you can maximize your profits and ROI in any market condition. )

Jesus Christ. Honestly, can you imagine if the US had to pay back those bonds? Can you imagine how much THREE (3) TRILLION in 1934 would be worth now?? The country would have fallen into an abysmal pit of debt and we would descend into anarchy. I just ran 3T of 1934 USD through an inflation calculator and in 2001 the US would have owed them AT LEAST:
>$39,649,253,731,343.28
$39,649,253,731,343.28
>$39,649,253,731,343.28

Silver is not undervalued. IT doesn’t carry a “monetary premium” anymore for several reasons. For example gold would be worth $100 if not for the 10x monetary premium it carries because of it’s stock to flow. Issuance has stayed at 1-2% for 6 thousand years. Many people think gold and bitcoin are competing because they possess similar characteristics. It’s these characteristics of money that have dethroned silver has a monetary metal now that there’s 2 better options: gold and bitcoin. Silver used to be the next best thing. Now it’s not so it’s reverted back to its true industrial value. This is why boomers are going to be befuddled in 15 years on their deathbed when silver is still $15 or less. And no it’s not going to moon 10x lol.

Got like roughly 30 monster boxes of ASE’s in a secure storage vault. Near 15,000 ounces. Silver has industrial uses, gold is 99% bars and cosmetics

Undervalued or not, you need to consider the liquidity of it. Some places only accept specific metal coins or bullions to detect counterfeits. Those places have no idea how to detect real from fake palladium or platinum items thus not worth the risk (also they have less buyers).

It is not about scaring people, I know for a fact I cannot sell palladium in my city, i checked. Better going with paper for those rare metales I guess.

After 2-3 years, coins in uncirculated and perfect conditions start to increase in value $1-$2 per year (depending on the rarity) on top of the silver value.

Oh so you dont mind giving me your gold do you? Face it anon when our global economy collapses sometime in the next few years people will be trading with anything besides paper money. Having stacks of 1 ounce silver bars would be good for trading since you can carry them around and buy stuff with them. Crypto would only be viable in niche parts so the most tradable goods would be cigs, weed, toilet paper, precious metals, guns, bullets, food, clothes you name it. Paper money will be used to wipe your ass when the bloated welfare state kills off the US government especially since we're 20 trillion in debt
