OP, Just buy BTC/ETH. Don't trade for a bit get used to the market, the dumps, the rallies ect. I would avoid ICO coins, the newfags want to get others involved so they don't feel like the tards they are!

You don’t have to buy a whole bitcoin, you can buy any factional amount, .05 for example. Spend whatever percentage of your money you feel comfortable, but I would strongly advise 50% or more in some combination of bitcoin and ethereum

lmao, listen, zero advice on biz is honest. you ill get 50% of people telling you link is a scam, 50% of them telling you it's the final 100000x gain, and the harbinger of the industrial revolution, which will rise from 50 cents right now to $1000 EOY.... who will you believe?

best thing to do is research.
I’m not going to spoonfeed you, and you shouldn't believe anything just because soneone on biz told you, but I will give you direction. Spend the next day (or all the evenings this week) researching the following, in this order:
1. Smart contracts
2. Tokenisation
3. The oracle problem
4. Centralised oracles and decentralised oracles
5. Game theory
6. Chainlink
7. The API economy
8. Open banking and PSD2
9. The 4th industrial revolution

I’d suggest getting a rudimentary understanding of all of them, then going back and looking in depth into any areas you didn’t understand, or any parts that make you doubt the significance of chainlink.
You can use google, blogs, warosu.org biz archives, and even ask on here - although don’t expect genuine helpful replies as a given.
Start by googling each one, and spending 10 minutes on each. Then you can ask for guidance here.

This is the best financial advice you will ever receive. No need to thank me.

Please do not listen to the anti- chainlink crowd op.

Use the website warosu and go look at how /biz/ acted about Ethereum back in its starting days.
Link allows the traditional internet to securely provide data to pretty much any blockchain. This is quite literally the bridge from the old structure to the new.

It is not a scam and anyone saying so is obviously holding LINK and wants to buy more at a lower price. trust me OP. look at best performers of 2018. LINK.

Either heed my warning or stay poor OP. Good Luck.

Being this new!
No such thing! If you buy 'cheap' you are buying something market doesn't like.
If you buy 'expensive' you are buying what the market likes!
Do you know more than the market?

If you buy link now you are in for the best learning experience, fomoing into the top is bad, these idiots think it's going up forever and as non deluded people know nothing does, see eth and btc.
The learning experience couldn't come at a better time though, nothing has hit bottom yet and you will be cured of delusion before the next bull run

$2000 CAD is very little. Basically less than $1500 USD. Your exchange quadriga is teetering on insolvency. I'd probably buy ETH under $100 USD. Then buy other shitcoins
