Exactly. Too few people understand this. They think because they perform well in school compared to peers that they are special and intellectually gifted. The people making huge advances in fields are autisticslly obsessed and motivated personally. OP is motivated by the fact that he thinks people will be impressed by his “education.” Anyone can do well in school if they put effort in: you’re just fucking learning shit that people already know...it’s sad how people don’t realize that they’ve bought into the bullshit “education” meme...AND they’ve been convinced that they’re the smart ones.

I went to a top 10 university in the US and studied biomedical engineering undergrad : my smartest and most successful professor didn’t go to high school. He was a literal genius and made millions of dollars despite not doing the “traditional education” bull shit. If you don’t have a genuine motivation to make discoveries, you’ve wasted a bunch of time and money with universities.

>> No.12508257

Bioengi here.
I took the redpill like op and i decided to quit this field forever after spending 3 years between lab rat jobs and begging for a post-doc.
I eventually quit this shit and decided to flip stuff. Learned to sell and started selling anything i could get profit from.

Result? I bought a nice beach-house and i own a 2-cabs sailing boat.
I decided to put those useless degrees to use and am gonna start my own biotechs startup for fun. Its disposable income at this point.
I put up an ad looking for a technician and guess what. People with a phd are applying to my underpaid job.

My honest advice to you is this: bite the bullet while its still early and look for something else to do. Preferably something that will generate a constant amount of shekels. You will soon realize that all degrees are useless. The only skill worth having is learning how to sell shit. Everything else is secondary.

>Companies fail because they don't hire angry autists

Spoken like someone who has never actually worked. Nothing ruins the workplace like a toxic personality. If you're approaching this with a perspective of "I'm going to be a huge asshole to my coworkers and I expect them to put up with that because I think I'm smarter than them", you're going to have a rough time in the professional world.

Not if your a literal genius though. I know one guy who does this but he is so fucking smart everybody just puts up with him and he isn't like that 100% of the time just most of the time. Most people who try to pull this off fail because honestly they just aren't that smart.

Fantastic. Younger anons should take notice. Cash flow or cash-cushion is king. Your genius university professor and university itself are subject to same economic forces as everyone else - pay bills and get revenue / cash-flows. Learn to sell, get cash-flows or achieve FIRE through asymmetric investments and then you can venture into “blue sky” research. Even if you are too old to chase discoveries then, generational wealth will ensure that your kids can take risk - take science as a true exploration instead of worrying about paying bills or take tennis as career. If you look in history, leaving few outliers, most of successful scientists had some kind of familial support. And by today’s economics it’s a stupidity to take science as careers. If you have 2M in bank, you are alllwed to do whatever keeepinh those money invested in blue chip dividends stock. Must read: Rich Dad Poor Dad

Yes, if you know what to study and how to build your resume. A vast majority of people just put one or two different programming languages on their resume (and perhaps a few other random things) and call it day. These people will find it pretty difficult to even get an interview

The secret is to learn a bunch of little simple technologies related to your field. An exception is databases if they apply to you, because those are extremely important.

Pic is a screenshot from my resume. Also you said you already have a CS degree, but for those that may be reading this post that don't have a degree, get a certification instead. Almost all companies will be perfectly fine hiring somebody with a cert instead of a degree, and certs only cost a couple hundred dollars and a month or two of studying

Wrong. You're retarded. Molecular Biology is, first off, the field which deals with 90% of what people actually fucking do all day long in labs excepting shit like radiology and other niches. Most tube work is pretty much just basic Molecular Biology with some extra stuff thrown in.

Additionally, a PhD in Molecular Biology should enable you to get a job at any sort of bio company pioneering and exploring research pathways and experimental design. Beyond the very obvious sub-disciplines involving shit like CRISPR and drug research, MB is actually a very broad field which deals with most anything labs do. Calling Molecular Biology of all things a fucking meme is stupid.

>>12507364
This is true too, but PhDs should get tons of lab work and that's what you should be leveraging, practical experience. Of course, none of it matters if you're an ugly smelly autist who can't interview and is too weak to apply for the shit he wants.

You know I really have to call bullshit on this. What the hell kind of economy is this where some guy has to spend 10 years of their life in university gaining a PhD just so they can go around begging for internships?

I realized college was a meme and stopped at an undergrad in math. I work as a code monkey now (at a similar level to the OP) though I'm not sure if my job will survive the next downturn.

As for the OP, he should just enjoy the fact that he has an easy job that pays ok, that's really all you can ask for in a job. No reason to look down on his co-workers like that.
