Any OG's here from bitcoin 2013-2014-2015?
I ironicly think we prob won't see a parabolic pump like the one we saw in 2017.
It was a 1 time event and the people who get rekt they wont be back anytime soon.

We aren't gonna see a BTC pump again until an physical ETF happens. People don't realize that BitMex is the death of Bitcoin. BTC-settled shorts are the death of BTC. It's essentially a self fulfilling prophecy. People short BTC because they think the price will go down, price goes down, they get paid in BTC, they dump BTC since they think the price is going down, repeat.

I agree that it does destroy Btc for the moment....but it’s model can’t survive forever. It is literally a bottom feeder mentality of a business model. If BTC does become more adopted and slightly more stable people will no use it to gamble they’re funds. I’ve never touched it because casinos are not my bag....at the moment the majority of BTC adopters are gamblers and young people and they’re both easily manipulated by that Bitmex model.

You're a dumb fucking idiot and I've explained this to you before.
BTC denominated deriviates mean nothing and just adds depth to the market.
It doesn't create some kind of self fullfilling bitcoin dump.

Literally just think for a minute.

Who are you trading against when you trade on futures/swap you dumb idiot?

1. What is market making?
When you buy/sell into a market maker's bids on bitmex they hedge their position on spot. They just want the price difference between their buy and sell, they don't want to blow up holding on a long or short bag.

2. What is arbitrage?

You can sell futures and buy spot to arb the % difference between the spot and the futures. This creates price pressure on the spot.

For example:
If futures are trading 4% above spot. Then you can short futures and buy spot and earn an easy 4% at settlement.
Thus, if futures prices are above spot, then it encourages people to buy spot to arb.
