You can operate your node with 5-10 link tokens if you accept low-menial type of job

For example, your node could operate as a dedentralized oracle for toilet cleaners. The tokens would gather real life information from different toilets around the city and tell how dirty they are and the toilet cleaners would decide if they want to use 1 or 5 tokens to arrive at the decentralized data conclusion. All of this information needs to go through Town Crier and their TEE so that the competitors of the said toilet company would know how dirty the toilets in the area X are currently. If the toilets are not dirty, it is no point going to clean them up, instead, the company could accept a dirtier job so to speak.

literally inifinite possibilities with Chainlink and smart contracts

Wouldn't bother fren it's just a pnd shitcoin. There're only two developers and one is just a philosophy undergrad in his second year. They had their chance but the time for smart contract icos is over. Link is just another platform trying to compete with waves and ETH. I suppose its privacy is as good as verge so that's something.
