Heard alot about Monero here lately. Can someone convince me to go all in, when to sell, and explain why this is a good investment?

they're trying to change their optics.
A price crash from ath, new privacy coin competition, and the ever-present association with drugs and pedos hasn't been good PR for the coin.

Why else would they foray into Fortnite shit?
Bearish indicator homie.

This coin used to be in the top 10. Look at where it is now. Look to what happened to the XMR-ETH price. I'm so glad I dumped my XMR for 0.54 eth. /biz/ is basically full of bagholders.

It's a good project but it will never be legal. People used to launder money with it in 2017, which drove the price up. Now they the NSA, the CIA, and the FBI know about and monitor it. Buying or selling Monero immediately makes you a suspect. If you wanna launder money, why wouldn't you use a more obscure coin instead?

There is a lot of competition now, since people realize that financial privacy is a must and bitcoin is not private. So there are also a lot of shills for other projects like dero (which is a scam IMO) and monero FUDers aka bitcoin maximalists.

>> No.12355901

>>12355843
>Bitcoin is not private
It is private. The real difference is that Bitcoin is traceable. Untraceability also creates a host of other problems. For example, you have no clue of how Monero's supply is distributed. Or: if someone steals your coins, you're fucked. You'll never be able to trace them.

There's no transparency, which makes it less likely that people will want to trust it. The market will decide if untraceability is important. So far, it isn't - the dark web still uses Bitcoin and no one gives fuck. Monero is good for certain use cases (e.g. people transferring money under dictatorships), but for wealth storage you're better off with bitcoin.

Problem with investing in Monero is that no matter how popular it is, there’s no reason for the price to go up. For example someone buys it to buy an item in Fortnite, Epic immediately sells it. There’s no tokenomics built in to make it appreciate. On the other hand with something like Ethereum if it goes mainstream then everyone needs gas so that could drive the price up.

You can always have multiple wallets. Also, Bitcoin mixers have existed for a while.

What you autists fail to see is that the average user thinks traceability is a good thing. I really like the fact that I can trace every transaction in Bitcoin and ethereum. It makes me trust it. I have no clue if who owns the private keys to most address, but bring able to see every transaction is very reassuring.

It's not Fud you faggot. Do you think they're going to let a untraceable money be legal forever? Just wait until they arrest some human traffickers and pedophiles using Monero to hide transactions. When this happens, governments will force exchanges to delist it, like they've done in Japan. (Japan is always ahead of time when it comes to crypto legislation, by the way.)

Then there will be a massive sell off. The coin will still exist, but it will be worthless. Criminals will keep shifting to more obscure coins that are outside of the government's scope. Anyone can fork Monero. Why would you use the core chain, which is surveiled, instead of some obscure fork?

Privacy is a human right as long you don't use it as an excuse to violate other people's rights. If people begin to use a private coin for human trafficking, it is perfectly justifiable to crack down on the coin and break their privacy. This is pretty basic stuff, everyone knows this. You guys are deluded if you think society will allow criminals to and transact money secretly.
