>I'm new to the stock market, what stocks should I buy?
Before you buy anything, make a brokerage account and read investopedia articles and/or the books in the OP list. If you don't have a broker, you can't buy stocks, Ratsu is stupid, and if you blindly buy things without understanding how the stock market works or doing any research on the individual stocks you're buying, you will lose money and it will be entirely your fault.

Depends on what you're trying to trade. If you like small-medium cap speculative growth stuff like the dude weed, biopharma, etc, then yeah it behaves much the same as crypto. Monster blue chip companies are more stable unless the broader markets are losing their shit like right now. Usually when trading blue chips, active traders will use leverage or trade the stock with options rather than the common shares.

Yes, there's a whole other side to stocks where the strategy is as much about stability and maximizing dividend yield as it is about whether the share price moves up much while you're holding the position.

This is boring though. And it's where the 'stocks only give 10% returns per year' meme comes from. Now, you can make more than that even with a long hodl + dividend strategy but there is some truth to the meme. In my opinion, this strategy is best used by people with large amounts of capital who want growth with limited risk, or people who aren't willing to learn how to trade and just want a set and forget for a few years option.

I may appreciate that neoliberals were useful idiots in industrializing the third world, but I don't share any goals with them. Culture is an oppressive force on the individual whether its permissive to homosexuality or not, as that's its very nature. We must all live our lives in defiance of something at some point, as the concrete comes into conflict with the abstract. Some people resolve to change the customs they find intolerable, that too is natural, as it's natural for customs to change and evolve. It is, however, foolish to find meaning in those changes. The fantasies we act out in culture are just that, fantasies.

Consider this on the neoliberals own terms, then. If it hadn't been for the opening up of financial markets in the 80s and 90s there wouldn't have been the flood of FDI into places like Vietnam and China. China in particular lifted literally near a billion people out of poverty because it's strong central government and industrial policy. It also made China into the 2nd largest economy and a much more real rival to the US on the world stage, all while rejecting the spread of liberalism.

Tell me then, appraising the situation as a neolib, does that sound like the outcome they would have been hoping for?

It makes me happy because now there's more industry there, less poverty and it looks like liberal hegemony and the US empire may be grinding to a halt, even if I'm not a fan of the existing CCP.

>> No.12301777

>>12301737
Well, good, then. Liberalism in every shade has done nothing but make human beings miserable since its inception. Chinks enjoy life more despite living in comparative deprivation. I'd argue that liberal capitalism has destroyed culture more than communism has. Look at post-Communist Eastern Europe, Russia, China and Central Asia in how they live as compared to Western Europe and the Americas.

I disagree with the idea that culture is an oppressive force. It'll develop wherever humans are, no matter how small or minor it is. The enemy in general is the system that's in decline.

>P&G's former logo originated in 1851 as a crude cross that barge workers on the Ohio River painted on cases of P&G star candles to identify them. P&G later changed this symbol into a trademark that showed a man in the moon overlooking 13 stars, said to commemorate the original 13 colonies.

>The company received unwanted media publicity in the 1980s due to rumors, spread largely by Amway distributors, that the moon-and-stars logo was a satanic symbol. The accusation was based on a particular passage in the Bible, specifically Revelation 12:1, which states: "And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, the moon under her feet and upon her head a crown of 12 stars." P&G's logo consisted of a man's face on the moon surrounded by 13 stars. Some claimed that the logo was a mockery of the heavenly symbol alluded to in the aforementioned verse, thus construing the logo to be satanic. Where the flowing beard meets the surrounding circle, three curls were said to be a mirror image of the number 666, or the reflected number of the beast. Probably a pump tmrw since its the 1st trading day of the new year. Lots of news and reports coming out this week, which I presume will be "ok" but show that growth globally is slowing. This will, probably, cause the market to drop. US data and Fed chair speaking on Friday, so expect volatility.

holy fug france
i love le frogs
literally showing us how its supposed to be done in le current year
and remember this all started because of taxes on petroleum products, at a time when crude spot has been CRASHING. if my thesis is correct and the US is unable to keep up with the silent/sleeper demand for oil, this will lead to a surge in spot price until new wells are drilled (and this could take YEARS to establish new wells). and thats not to mention what will happen to the, now massively oversold, commodity in the event that the raep hikes slow down or stop over the next year. remember, oils run this year was entirely in SPITE of raep hikes causing the dollar to surge. with a dramatic drop in USD we could see an oil run like we havent since 06/07

but all this places the french govt in an absolute no-win situation, and every one of their faux olive branches that have been extended to les gilets jeunes has been handed back mangled and broken. and for good reason, as they address NONE of the protestors needs, and are merely platitudes extended to try and reduce the property damage. if oil itself rises, and the tax issue is not addressed things will be 10x worse by this time next year

US MSM and intl MSM has been doing their best these past few weeks to try and paint these protests as dying, and failing that, as something they are not. meanwhile these last few weeks have been much more focused and violent on media outlets than previous weeks. the frogs are literally BURNING DOWN THEIR MSM OUTLETS.

france is one of the most important pillars of the union. them leaving, or their country collapsing into even more civil unrest will push the EU to the breaking point. if the massive wave of inflation i expect in USD at some point happens to the euro while all of this is going on it, will be the absolute death of the union.

any frogs/euros here care to weigh in on this? i dont see this getting talked about many places anymore, but it is most decidedly not "over".

Humans should live deprived of material wealth just enough that they develop well psychologically. Women naturally being suited to take care of the home isn't oppressive. >Humans should live deprived of material wealth just enough that they develop well psychologically.
Most "middle class" children grow up with the expectation they will always have a place to live and food on the table, even if they can't get everything they want, and they're reasonably well adjusted with some exceptions.

>Women naturally being suited to take care of the home isn't oppressive
If it's naturally we shouldn't have to force them. Indeed I agree, most women want children, but they shouldn't have to rely on the whims of a husband or boss to do this. Nor should they have to have children because means tested benefits means that's the only way they'll get government support.

>Are birds oppressed because they have to forage for food?
Birds do not have a social division of labor, they forage to meet their own needs. In capitalist society, we labor to meet the needs of others, but only indirectly. Our material needs at the mercy of those who coordinate this production for their own profit, even though as an empirical matter we have the capability as a society to guarantee our basic necessities.

There is a reason wolves always share their kills, as do all pack hunters more generally. If a selfish one attacks his fellow creature attempting to take her fill, then yes, that is oppression.

>I think it will be taken down from the inside
theyve been trying sinc day one
its proven exeptionally difficult compared to all other protests in recent memory due to how its organized (muh decentralized meme). theres no leader, no revisions to the agenda, and everyone seems to be on the same page as to the agenda itself, as well as the attitude of "ends justify the means" (if theres any way into it, its THAT imo, but i dont wanna give em any ideas)

>The fact that it isn't one makes it dissapointing to me.
dont worry about right/left. thats unironically what has allowed this to succeed. it operates like an extremely violent, politically unaligned populist movement, with all the intense momentum that comes along with such a thing (similar to trumps campaign where he was able to, as an (((outside))) candidate, get all kinds of different flavors of extremists to vote for him)

aligning the issues with right or left would leave them wide open to infiltration as well as media bastardization/well-poisoning. it also allows their numbers to be greatly fortified. and lets not forget that the protest is not against a political party, but the entirety of the french govt (and also less directly, EU parliament)

to put it simply, this want you have for it to be a movement full of people who think exactly like you is part of your burger programming. in lieu of such alignments, the frogs have built something thats entirely unique (structurally) from recent protests, and also proven to be so effective that since like 3 or 4 weeks ago, has prompted a total media blackout on ALL frequencies

take notes kidz
THIS is how its done

Maybe. I'm a known commodity in several capacities but I'd prefer not to say which. The less I have a coherent online identity the better.

absolutely disgusting

you know what this means dont you?
it means that we literally have the same kind of system as reddit, where downvoted opinions/posts will be hidden eventually. except that this ones even fucking worse becuase unlike reddit, this downvote system is hidden from all but mods

it concerns me to hear that our fine threads are infested with such reddit tier rulecucks that will report anything they disagree with. not to be melodramatic, but this is a huge (but quiet) assault on our ability to discuss things in a free speech environment. it seems its hiros intention to destroy this place once and for all. no doubt under orders from some three letter agency
