I want to launch a small side business I can do along my normie 9-5. This isn't only for money but also for experience and self-worth. I hate my job and life and want to do something productive instead of wallowing in self pity all day long. I work as a programmer for a company with some fairly strict rules on what I can do outside of work so I probably can't do freelance software development, but pretty much anything else is fair game.

>I live in Canada
>I have quite a lot of space in my apartment that I don't use (my living room is entirely empty)
>I have strong technical aptitude

Does anyone have suggestions for a simple side business I can look into?

Also, maybe this can be a thread where you share stories of what you do as a side business and whether or not you consider it a success.

Hating your job is bad anon, it's okay for a while to live like that, but maybe you should look at other positions as well. Even if it's a 9-5 as well, it can make all the difference.

I exaggerated when I said I hate my job. I just don't really like it that much. I don't dread going to work or anything. I'm just generally unhappy with my daily grind and I think having a small business even if its unsuccessful would help my mental state a lot.

I appreciate the suggestions, but since I work all day I can't supervise the space in my apartment. My thinking is that the large space can be used for storage though, so if I am selling something I assemble I have a ton of space to store materials and assembled products.
