Behold a Green Day

>I'm new to the stock market, what stocks should I buy?
Before you buy anything, make a brokerage account and read investopedia articles and/or the books in the OP list. If you don't have a broker, you can't buy stocks, and if you blindly buy things without understanding how the stock market works or doing any research on the individual stocks you're buying, you will lose money and it will be entirely your fault.

You know...nothing in life matters now because I know how to fucking juggle. Like I'll never be homeless anymore because I can juggle. Like no matter what happens I have a skill that I can use in capitalism. Like if I want to get degraded on camera for money? Lame and overdone...but have they ever juggled? Nope!!
Homeless on the streets begging for money?? Now imagine if I knew how to juggle. Like I literally saved myself from a life of poverty learning this. The soul of the jester is guiding me!!

No, there is a logic to them, but you have to understand how they operate.

The stock market is a barometer of people's emotions, and when people react to negative news, they tend to overeact.

Same with positive news. Just look at the replies in this thread.

If you can't trade on people's emotions then you shouldn't be trading.

Half the traders can't trade on any given day.
This will be selected by random quantum computing telling us in a Thanos like manner who gets to trade and who not. 50% of the traders who get to trade can't place new orders, again computed similarly as before. And only way to exit is through margin calls.

There, fixed this meme. 1000 point rallies every day.

And by "trade", I mean acquire something you think is severely undervalued over a period of months and then have a realistic goal on what can be achieved with that investment.

Weirdly enough, selling stocks when you're up 50% is just as hard, if not harder than buying stocks.

Markets have historically gone up, but in saying that they have also had corrections as well. Even decade long corrections in the 70s.

You have good advice for the ultra long term, but on the short to medium term it could be disastrous if 2018 is the top of the market.

Consider this: if you purchased the DOW at the peak in 2007 you'd have to wait until 2013 to see the same level reached again.
