Everybody is taught math and biology in school for 12 years but somehow this body of knowledge that everyone seemingly expects me to be fluent in gets left out. I mean if it's like that then yeah, I guess I need to learn it on my own. You could literally have learned what all the words you mentioned mean in the time it it took you to write this posts. All of them are pretty simple concepts. You can get a solid basic understanding of finance/investing by reading a textbook on corporate finance. In fact, I think everyone should do that before they start investing (or let other people invest for them).
