A while back I found a job posting on craigslist. It was posting houses for sale for a real estate agent on craigslist. I did it for about 6 months and never got paid. Finally after complaing he sends me a wells Fargo check for $3,000 which was about how much he owed me but he tells me to take $2,000 out on a money order for some reason. I refused and decided to keep the check. The check bounced and I never heard back from him.

Anyone know anything about this scam?

Very common scam. I made to the point where they sent me the check. No water marks so a total fake.

I kept it to make filters for joints.

How the scam plays out
>get check
>deposit and withdraw cash
>wire some of the money to the person
>check bounces a few days later
>SOL because of the money order

You got played on another level by doing some work for the scammer.

That's why I would find as much information about the guy and who he hangs around with as I could in those 6 months, and if he refuses to pay me I would show up and break his fucking knees.

Don't do work for shady people you don't know where they came from.
