Yes. But I'm also unironically not a brainlet so I traded everything to eth and back when btc was 3.4k so I could realize a ton of losses from my trades in January. I wont have any tax liabilities for a long time.

>> No.12179986

Yes b/c when I buy a mansion in the hills for 3btc I don’t want Uncle Sam to come at me from taxes I didn’t pay from 3 years ago.

I have thousands of trades on binance trying to be me talented daytrader (and have the losses to show for it). Never reported anything to IRS. If I ever make it (ha..) not sure what I'll do. I figure if the sum is big enough to be noticed I will pay for some tax advice. Or something.

Can I just buy hundreds of gift cards? Tide detergent?

>The 30-day rule in the stock market – commonly referred to as the "wash sale" rule – affects the taxable gains and losses on stocks you sell. The purpose of the rule is to prevent you from selling stock for a tax loss and buying it right back.

If you ever try to cash out a large amount and haven't previously reported you're going to get audited.

What is a "large amount"? More than 10k? Can I just divide any future gains into a mix of banks, various stablecoins, PayPal, gift cards, Squarecash.... etc. PayPal doesn't report income under 20k...

Hoping that if I make it I can just pay a penalty fee and give up half my money or something, I honestly can't be fucked with reporting such small gains
