How does /biz/ stay happy/not pissed off at the world?

I'm in my mid-20's, never had a gf, moving up in the world financially, work out, have hobbies/interests/career that give me joy/fulfillment...

I live in an affluent area and whenever I go out at night to grab dinner I see teens having the time of their lives, hanging with friends, not a worry in the world because their parents gave them everything. I get a mixture of petty anger and self-loathing because I never experienced that and never will. I don't know...I guess focusing on myself and making shekels keeps my mind off these negative emotions, it's just these brief moments in self-contemplation I get when I am not busy these feels come up. ...I don't know anons, I think these feels are normal among men of all ages...right?

The things you think are giving you joy and fulfillment clearly aren't if you're still bitter at the world. Simple as that. You also don't seem to have anyone to relish in any of the good things you have so that's gonna just end up in bitter loneliness as well. Anything worth a damn involves people, as that other side of you keeps trying to tell you- This shit isn't enough, you aren't angry at them, you're yearning for the experiences you see them enjoying because that's the sauce of life.

Time to reevaluate what you actually want in life boyo.

I keep the negatives at bay by doing things that are fun. honestly my friends are losers, so I have to find the joy in doing things by myself such as concerts or backpacking.
spending money and the material shit I have really gives me euphoria. I bought a replica life sized version of a baby raptor from jurassic world because I could. I don't suffer from buyers remorse.

I guess everyone gets these feelings. though I can't say I do, i'm pretty content with sitting across from my cat eating a sandwich alone.

99.999% of humankind has had to live in conditions 100x worse than what you have. And I'm not talking about the world today. Everyone throughout history lived through horrible lives that involved awful living standards, no comfort, no money, no true freedom unless you were in the 0.000001%. Their sacrifices and hardship has led to the quality of life you get to experience today, so stop moping about the past and start enjoying the amazing stuff you get right now. You're incredibly lucky to have this life in comparison to billions of others.

There will always be someone smarter, richer, better looking or happier than you, agonizing over it is completely pointless.

I wish I belonged to a community of people of my age right now, that said I had 2-3 years of that when I was younger and if it's cool but it's not what gives meaning to life, those people eventually leave too as you grow up.

I personally just hope I will find a good woman to build a family with.
But I already know it will be a challenge in itself to find and perpetuate such thing and I will have to put effort in myself to carry the task since society is an increasingly hostile place to this.

We live in an increasingly atomized world, OP due to the development of capitalism. people are more lonely, have less sex and have less meaningful conversations.

The kind of moments where love comes about: take a cliche, you're hanging out with friends when suddenly you bump into a qt, your eyes meet, and suddenly it's love at first sight ect ect. These moments are largely random, but the circumstances that make them possible are becoming more and more scarce as we drift farther and farther from one another.

>>12124493
This is true, it's also why we're increasingly more and more miserable as a society. Companions, family, these things are not in the dna of capitalism, which only considers people so far as they are workers or consumers, isolated from the rest of the world. The true horror here is that this can't be fixed by new values, it doesn't matter how collectivist or individualist in ideology a society is, the result is the same as much in Japan as in the US.

J. L. Moreno, the psychoanalyst and sociologist who invented group therapy and sociometry, already in the mid twentieth century, believed he could solve all these issues by insisting on that exact same group therapy, study of interpersonal relations, and acting out our issues. He believed if we simply espoused love towards our neighbor enough it would bring us closer together, hence the hippies and free love movements picked up much of his ideas. We can already see how they all failed so miserably today. No, if we want something to change we must change our material world our relationship to it.

It's not due to the development of Capitalism. It's inevitable as a side effect of the nature of the human experience itself. Go read Seneca - same damn complaints in a totally different system. Go ask any Slav that grew up in the Soviet Union - same thing again. The answer lies in the individual perception of the world & the relationship to it, not in any system of economics or politics. Good grief the amount of losers in this thread is ridiculous. Waah waah my feels.
Everything is relative. Man is relentless in his avarice, and always turns his gaze to the stars. Notice how nobody in this thread claims to be content. Sure, they give him advice, but in an underhanded way, as they, in the very same paragraph, berate him on his lack of appreciation for that which he currently possesses.
I repeat: everything is relative. Those goods, material or metaphysical, which many dream of, are already 'enjoyed' by a great many. This great multitude, in turn, dreams of yet greater things, casting doubt on themselves and living in perpetual anxiety. Such is the way things are.
I suggest a more rational approach to things. Instead of jealousy and other base emotions making a slave of you, revel in higher concepts, such as the pursuit of knowledge, or the quest for truth.
Give yourself to the future, and work dutifully towards the attainment of your goals. Give yourself no respite from your obligations. Become a virtuous automaton. Content yourself with the satisfaction of your vision, whatever it may be, in due course. All things in their time, OP. Stay true to your course, and soon you shall enjoy the fruits of your labours. Just think of the masses that neglect self-development, and often end up as the refuse of civilisation, at the short end of society. You alone can elevate yourself to the 99th percentile, and then you shall have your day.

That's literally a lie, not the same thing at all. A lot of Eastern Euro boomers will tell you a completely different story - that yes, they were poor and didn't have access to Western goods as they do today, but people back then were more friendly to each other and there was more social cohesion, money wasn't as important as today (because of shortages) and now it's much worse. They literally complain about 'le good old days' all the time. Not just people from the ex-USSR, but also Yugos and others. It's probably just nostalgic feelings, because older people always will try to idealize the time when they were young, but still.

Fool that you are, you never stopped to consider what the purpose of your suffering actually was. Look to all the men that came before you. Most lived only to die without reproducing, and they lived hard scrabble lives at that. Those that did find a mate, at least a quarter of them raised children that weren't theirs so they never reproduced either.

All that is to say, well what if you did find a mate and started a family. What the fuck would a schlub like you have to offer them in your fucking 20's? What, you think you're going to have much wisdom to pass down to your son? Think you'll have that sage male advice to teach him how to navigate the world? You haven't even figured it out yourself, as is evident by your whinging about not getting what you want.

Truth is you're not supposed to just GET what you want, you have to take it. And you must learn how to take it so that you can teach your offspring how to do the same. You must learn how to survive! It was always a lie that the comfortable life was attainable or that it had any meaning at all. Those young guys with those girls? What, you think those relationships are going to last? You think those girls are reliable? They're going to learn too, but their lesson won't be quite the same as yours. Don't envy those that aren't truly in control of their fate, those are boys that have yet to awaken to their true potential and become fully human. Earthly distractions will delay inner growth and leave them at the whim of chance, unable to recognize the snake in the grass that they are tempted to tie themselves to. Woe to those that make the mistake of knocking those broads up!

No, sir, you are blessed to clearly recognize the problem that is in front of you and doubly blessed for having the capability of figuring out solutions. For if you do, then you are a truly valuable human being, a real man, a real conqueror that deserves what he earns and is fully capable of earning more!
