I actually bought a suicide stack today. But trying to store it made me realise how much of a bloated turd it really is.
I was looking for the eth-equivalent of bitcoin core + electrum personal server, so I could use my trezor without leaking all my addresses to a centralized server.
Catching up with a few months worth of full blocks takes an hour with bitcoin. It takes half a day for one month with ethereum. Users will always rely on the servers that you can select on MEW (etherscan, infura, mycrypto, ...).
And that's with only 2k daily dapp users.

How will ethereum solve these problems? I know it's not with PoS because that'll allow the chain to grow even faster.

are you building an archive node? with ether all you need are the block headers to give you 100% of the same security you get downloading the whole bitcoin chain.

a fully verified fully sync'd node on ethereum is something like 10-15GB. only when you want an archive node do you start getting into the hundreds of GB, and thats something literally no users will ever need.
