Since I’m starting to see more media being created that’s set in, or referencing the early 2000s I’m believe there may be a budding market for people who own very clean old iMacs and to rent out to prop finders, but how does one actually put themselves out there as owning film-condition props?

millions of pic related were produced, and you can buy hundreds of them for fifty bucks on ebay.
a few dozen studios buying props won't affect the price at all.

I’m not trying to sell them at a mark up, I’d like to see if the ones I already own, and may purchase, are able to be rented out to studios, which is why I need to know how to get in contact with them.

>rented out to studios
so you're on the low-functioning end of the spectrum, got it.

yes anon, big hollywood studios have time to search the internet for one-off losers who want to rent out shitty props, then drive all over the fucking place collecting said props, negotiating with 1000+ individuals for their shitty props - jesus fuck anon. try thinking

Lucasfilm bought several 1930s camera flashguns from Star Wars prop nerds to make Luke's/Rey's lightsaber for The Force Awakens. In the '70s they were cheap old junk. In 2014 they were going for $100 on ebay. Today, they're going for $1000. I've scoured thrift and antique stores since the early '90s hoping to find one cheap. Not even once.

I was looking at blockbuster VHS tapes on ebay, noticed they were going for good money. Then I saw them used on Better Call Saul. Then they used flip phones, a whole shitload of them.
Whatever they don't already have in a warehouse, they get from ebay.
Although now I'd say a good CRT will only appreciate in value. PVMs are already crazy prices for good ones.

No shit they’re gonna scout the internet for randos looking to rent out props, I’m trying to see if there’s a centralized method of contacting/putting yourself out there for prop finders like an eBay for people who own film condition items in demand where one could make an account and list what they have. That way all prop finders have to do is go on said website and search up whatever prop they need to get in contact with people with these props. No tell me motherucker, do you know of such a website that you’ve withheld to share?

VHS that go for decent money are pretty rare. Mostly horror flicks with cool covers.
