>MUH YOU GOTTA PAY YOUR DUES
litterly the only winners are the ppl that are getting paid from your hard work to run the 'union' NO OP Unions are for tards

>> No.11992235

Unions can give u better job security, pay and benefits. The stronger the class warfare against the capitalists, the better off all workers will be. I think you should join op.

Don’t listen to any 12 year old retards telling you they are bad. You have strength and leverage over the company when negotiating as a group and anybody that says this is a bad thing can go fuck themselves.

Unions are not as relevant as they used to be. Unions were formed when markets were undeveloped and their was little information available. Now the markets are developed and information is available you can see for yourself if your benefits and pay are reasonable. They other people in this thread are living in some socialist fantasy land that really doesn't exist anymore.

Unions are good. They keep useless well connected workers in their place while keeping out millions of jobless people that will never have a chance to show if they can do a better job.

A union can also easily lose you your job, and a shitty unionboss will make your life incredibly miserable, and there's absolutely no guarantee that anyone, for any reason, will actually negotiate with a union.

Depending on where in the world you actually live, unions can be good or bad, but usually they're very bad.

I'm unionized and I make 48/hr plus pension, annuity, and top tier healthcare

Dues are like, 500 bucks a year and i make several thousand more than scabs

Also the whole seniority thing is a meme talking point, I think it's real for teacher's unions but that's it

If youre part of a small to small-medium comoany, then no. Its a waste of time.

If youre part of a medium to huge international corp, then very yes.

Execs have been engaging in antiworker practices for decades now. Theres no good reason not to fight back. The only workers who think otherwise are the individualist goys who love company cock in their ass, and are willing to live their lives at work.

Should I start a union?

>> No.11994211

I'm in a union. I'm unfireable which is nice. If some faggot manager talks shit, I can tell him to fuck off to his face. And all they can do is call my union rep. Then I just get back to work. Only way to get permanently fired is if I steal or get violent. Being late or missed work. I can get "fired" but I can simply request my job back. I witnessed someone abandon a job for 2 years and they returned to work after some consideration.

I unfortunately am afraid to be a lazy douche so I work my ass off and help anyone in need. The only thing I will do is tell a manager to fuck off whenever they try to squeeze an extra 1% of work out of me. They get butthurt but my numbers are fucking fantastic. Lately I'm just taking a million shortcuts. I'm learning that cheaters win 99.99% of the time. I look like a model employee, whereas in the past if I so shit perfect, my numbers drop.

I like the union only to prevent the emotional fear of getting fired. Oh yeah and the fantastic insurance.

It really depends on the union. The shitty ones, end up holding you by your balls and practically black mail you for part of your paycheck, while doing jack shit for you. Not all union are equal.

I'm a tradie and all the non union guys do serious asshole work. They take forever and it always ends up looking like shit. Why do you think they have to break the law and pay below prevailing wage to get any contracts? Their bids are the same because they might be cheaper per hour but they suck.
