After doing that, answer this question: how many times did you even slightly pause in reciting the sequence? In other words, how did you group pieces of the sequence?

For example, did you do groups of two repeated 4 times? Did you do groups of 4 repeated twice? Did you do groups of 3 up until the final 2 pieces of the sequence? Or did you even go one by one?

I focus on the center of the number sequence first, to determine if there are an even or odd number of 1’s. Then, after determining that it’s even, I look to the left and group those four 1’s together.
But, see, if there were ten 1’s, I would have done the same and ended up grouping five 1’s together instead of 4. And a group of three if there were six 1’s
