uncertain markets edition

>I'm new to the stock market, what stocks should I buy?
Before you buy anything, make a brokerage account and read investopedia articles and/or the books in the OP list. If you don't have a broker, you can't buy stocks, and if you blindly buy things without understanding how the stock market works or doing any research on the individual stocks you're buying, you will lose money and it will be entirely your fault.

From what I can see Amazon has a major bubble from people thinking they can expand into other countries. The issues they've been having lately seem to be a shaking of the confidence. So let's go over which countries are worth expanding into. The EU zone, China, Korea, Japan, Canada and maybe Mexico. Everywhere else wouldn't make the money the investment would require or are opposed to the USA and would have that hurt them. China and the EU won't let them in, the small Asian countries can have a more efficient version built inside though maybe Amazon can buy them up. That leave the cartel state and Canada. So how can I hurry this along and what's the best way to bet? Long term and gain off the volatility spike? Repeat short term puts?

Spongebob was in fact designed on a temporal leyline initiated by unknown agents approx. 2 years from this date. Spongebob was/is intended as the depiction of symbolic "manchild" purgatory intended to complement the effects of pheromone bombs detonated 1996, 1999, 2007, 2013 in the continental US. The Mandela shift occurred in 2012 to create memories for the show. Bikini Bottom represent the Waters ?, the quantum-fluidity of the Godhead of which life is only a self-particularization. Spongebob's arrested development is fed and nourished by this environment, on (alchemical) dry land his cartoon world shrivels into the Real. His character was specifically designed to prefigure your modern "basedboys".

Where the universe emerged out of an infinite ocean of energy, this ocean is not without its ontological predators: syntaxes that exist to devour the fundamental laws of other universes and absorb them into their own.
Example: qlippoth-4 pataphysical model "Spongebob is a Lie". Spongebob believed to be the cartoonishly caricaturized manifestation of a 0 shark. This being is not a being proper, but a whole reality, of which Bikini Bottom is an extremely sanitized depiction. Meme: [High Pitched Demonic Screeching] appears to manifestation of designation: 0 Patrick within 10 - 20 veils of its true form.

>have only about £35 until payday, 8 days away
>asking for more money from parents would be unthinkable because I've done it multiple times before and they'd freak

I have three days worth of food in the house, maybe a bit more. £26 k is a cuck wage in London. I spend all my money on junk food and coffee due to being in such an awful mood. I hate seeing attractive women everywhere who see me as a disgusting non Chad. Everyday I tell myself I'll have no more junk food or coffee then my spirit is crushed by my environment lack of satisfaction from life.

I wish I could give up coffee because it ruins my sleep and gym gains. Only dyels say coffee doesn't hurt sleep. I can function with ruined sleep but have no chance of being strong in the gym. I am a loser with weak willpower. My only hobby is drinking coffee in public to feel less alone, browsing 4chan, and feeling sad about life.

I think I am book smart but I am already 26 and with zero social experiences since I was 18. I've never been to a pub or club. I hated my. boring stem degree I've had no friends since 18, no female attention ever. How can I sit in my flat learning programming or something useful when my youth is passing before my eyes? And I'm being really fucking generous when I call being 26 youth.

Everything feels like work. I'm reading brothers Karamazov just to say I have. It's boring shit that pseudo intellectuals praise. Every single activity descends in to drudgery.

Acting normal isn't an option when you're ugly, normies will never accept you. I waste all my money on junk food and coffee. Societal propaganda is awful yet "classic" books are zero escape, just more drudgery that you are told to do.

I think at this point all normies have a superiority complex over me. Everyone else's life consists of easily joining institutions filled with normies like them, being judged by normies like them, doing things that normies enjoy.

>be me
>be 27 year old ugly beta loser nofriends autist with no friends or social experiences since school, no female attention ever; have never been to a pub, club, or party; have no passions

Life is going by so fast and I waste it all. I waste a lot of time on the internet but if you read the below, you will know why. It's like I view everything as a chore that needs to be avoided through procrastination.

I got bored of a history book I was reading and gave up on it. I abhor the modern humanitard mentality. If you want to know what it is, imagine an upper middle class person who says (honestly or not) Pynchon is funny and who reads the New Yorker. He is a pseudointellectual that claims his philosophising and literary interests are due to a love of knowledge but he knows nothing about STEM or anything practical or anything not marketed by a major publishing company or university. That's as succinctly as I can put it. The humanitard mentality is the prism that 99 % of all media is refracted through.

I don't have productive interests. There are just things I feel like I need to do to stop the pseudointellectuals coming after me (going through SICP, reading boring old books). I feel guilty for everything I do, don't do, and how I do it. I feel like I have to be more efficient in how I do things.

I have a full time job that requires no work and about 10 minutes per day at the office (plus commute) but I am still unhappy. I am insanely lazy and when I worked from 9 to 5 I saw my life as over. It was soul crushing.

Being an ugly autist without a posh accent is a career death sentence. I don't know how I will ever bother putting effort in to things, especially when I know Chads and women get everything handed to them. I see decades of boring work ahead of me.
My only pleasures in life are junk food, coffee, and McDonalds. My main hobby, apart from wasting time on the internet, is walking around London and hoping my 20s spontaneously stop feeling wasted

Goddamnit. GW Pharma missed earnings. They lost less than expected but came up short on revenue. Shitty deal considering they're likely to start raking it in off Epidiolex sales in coming year. My stop is set just below the long term trend. After hours trading dropped below that briefly so i'm not sure if it'll open above my stop or no. Thankfully this was a small trade for me anyway, loss won't be much relative to total portfolio if i do get stopped out.

Whether or not that’s actually true will depend on how much people will buy that it’s all “part of the plan” and the economy is actually doing fine, or whether or not his core supporters even really give a shit about the stock market as long as it doesnt mean they’re getting laid off. Powell is doing what is necessary to perpetuate capitalism, as were his predecessors who lowered rates and did quantitative easing. Trump represents the unbridled desire of the national capitalist. The capitalist distastes the competition that lowers his profits, he loves easy money, and will play whatever sentiments his customers want, he has no true ethical content, not even egoism, since he values his image and profits above even himself. I know people who worked in banking regulation during the crisis. At it's height, liquidity was completely frozen. If the government did nothing it would have meant the actual collapse of the international finance system. This is why the government guaranteed certain debt to get the markets working again, and it's also why they lowered rates, because if they hadn't I doubt banks would have been able to lend at all.

People thought a crisis of that magnitude was impossible. There was very little understanding of how deep the sub-prime mortgage crisis went. Most models put the lowest housing prices could go at great depression levels. I think that was surpassed. Most of the regulators, anyway, were bought off or simply would not have access to the kind of information necessary to know what was going on, and the banks weren't going to look into either because people just assumed that people generally would make sure they made their mortgage. Banks also learned to buy their own bullshit, duping themselves into thinking that whatever complicated debt instrument they cooked up actually reduced risk somehow.

This same kind of arrogance persists now, especially in the Trump administration.

The price of the stock don't got shit to do with the div. The div is decided by the ceo/board/whoever calls the shots at the company. The stock could have a price of $20 but pay out a 0.50 div per quarter (2 per year). The opposite is true as well, stock could be selling at $100 per but pay a shit 0.20 div. But the reason that stock is selling for 100 is due the company making profit out the ass so investors are happy/pumping up the stock. Look at Amazon, high as fuck but no div. Yet people still buy it cause they know that share price will climb and climb till one day Amazon goes the fate of GE.

the base pay is competitive within the industry. stock bonuses are just that, bonuses.

its actually what got me into the market in the first place. my company just started throwing stock at me and i had to start managing it.

Stock typically pays out 4 times a year. Some do it twice. Others only once. Depends on the company or fund. Really the only good thing about a high div is that when you enable drip it buys you more shares of that stock for free so the value goes up at no cost to you over time. So say you buy 5 Disney shares @ $113 per. You enable drip. You keep those for 20 yrs. Over time all those div payouts will buy you more shares free. After 20 yrs you disable drip. You now will have a nice fat payout coming to you. The only way you won't is if Disney stops paying out the div or the company goes tits up.

Long as you buy it a day or two before the date you'll get the div. But the amount of payout is set by the company. The stock will tell you. One share, twenty shares it don't mater. You'll still get the payout either way. Obviously the payout will be higher the more shares you buy though.

I am thinking of buying for the dividend, if the price is higher by the exdividend date, then I will sell after, then collect my dividend and reinvest in the company.

Awful move, stocks drop by their dividend total after payment and to top it off dividends are a tax liability, you literally lose money doing that.

>> No.11930062

on the subject of dividends, someone talk to me about REITs. i've held some for the last year and they did pretty good by me with growth well above inflation and a healthy monthly dividend. i don't know if i should hold them should the market get bearish.

you are partly right.. don't listen to all the retards in here. The problem is you have to know when it's actual "on sale" in the first place.. If you can get a good stock at a cheap price it's a buy imo.. Charts lie most the time.. try to trade without the charts..
