The more I read the more I realize the btc maximalists are right. I fucking hate eth. Vitalik is a snake oil salesman cult leader who will never deliver.

Blockchains are money, not a fucking computer. Replicating a TC machine across every node is incredibly wasteful and inefficient, as well as pointless until blockchains can scale. Vitalik promising sharding and PoS like they are nothing is literally hand-waving. Btc devs actually understand how shit works

You have no clue. It is trivial to explain what ethereum does to a normie. It is relatively hard to do so for bitcoin.
The value proposition for Eth is obvious to everyone.

>Bitcoin is a fucking shitshow. It will never scale.
It's already scaling with the Lightening Network.

>Energy consumption is unsustainable.
The Lightening Network and renewable energy sources will alleviate Bitcoin's energy strain. And if that doesn't work then Bitcoin will adapt through other means, like possibly switching to proof-of-stake.

You don't seem to realize that Bitcoin will adapt over time. These adaptations are slow, but that's due to the decentralized nature of Bitcoin, and one of it's strong suits. If you don't think Bitcoin will ever be over $10k again then I don't know what to tell you. It's clear that you don't see the value in this

>>11792461
if you'd calm down you'd realize that over time bitcoin forks have been been driven by pure intentions like you are implying. also they never forked for parity but nice try. bitcoin has been used and abused by dev teams to create money/market cap out of thin air promising free coins each round, really not much different than ICOs but on a smaller scale. that's not a deflationary system. also bitcoiners have even discussed confiscating people's coins on forks (like satoshi's) and all the bitcoin dev communities are so hateful to each other nothing can every get accomplished. you really need to take off the rose tinted glasses.

>unfortunately people like you will never realize it until the system burns you.
In what way do you propose that "the system" is going to burn me? What fucking system are you even talking about? I've been in Bitcoin since late 2012, and have worked on a variety of projects in the space since that time, and continue to do so. I love what I do, and will continue to love it whether the price is $100,000, $10,000, $1,000, $100, $10, or fucking $1. I'm here for the technology and its current and future application. Price is secondary, but price hikes will come with time, and every serious person involved knows this.

>you all think mass adoption of bitcoin is possible in its current state when new users have to decode things like pic related
I don't think anyone here is claiming that btc is ready for mass adoption, but neither is any other cryptocurrency. Mass adoption isn't something that occurs with the flick of a switch. Adoption is something that happens over time. As Bitcoin and Bitcoin's infrastructure mature, adoption will follow, and speculators will be rewarded. It doesn't take much to see that Bitcoin has a strong infrastructure, and is here to stay. If you'd prefer to contribute your time to some shitcoin then by all means, have fun
