Quinsam Capital, proud over of 160,000 shares of Acreage at a pre-IPO cost average of $6.20, put in a weaksauce low volume doji for the day. Lovely.

If you wanna talk a few months out we can look at each company, but as someone who has followed daily movement for these ADRS every open hour of the day for months. They are inherently chained together and move 95% on sentiment.

They move together on Chinese Markets and US markets, only breaking from the trend temporarily on their own ER's and on major PR's. The worst part being that on down days in either market they have a really hard time, but when the conditions line up right they easily grab 5-15% in a day. On the same hand when Donald has a mean tweet, or bad news between the nations comes out they get the dick so hard. At our current junction substantive news can boost days from what they would be normal by a couple percent, but bad news will easily and swiftly undo weeks of hard fought progress.

This is not a normal way for them to react but the tradewar has just become the most important factor and none of them can standout on their own beyond "risky chink adr" to any conventional investor.

You have to remember, most of GE's products have a lifespan of decades. Even if they stopped selling them completely today, they still have years of maintenance revenue. When Ford stops selling trucks one day they are dead, and there's only so many trucks you can sell to Americans.

Well, I'll concede that Ford isn't doing well in China, although the Chinese are buying less vehicles in general lately and I don't think they're ever going to be really interested in roundeye cards when they have super cheap shit domestics. Although, Ford still has had positive earnings each quarter, still has a strong American market and is still paying out very strong dividends. Plus it's undervalued with a low P/E ratio and it's under 10 dollars a share. Not to mention, they're in the process of developing automated cars and electric cars. They're a little bit behind on that game but I think they're due for a major rebound between 2020-2025 when they start rolling out these changes. Investors don't like "restructuring" but sometimes it's necessary for future growth.

I would look to international diversification and size diversification to small/mid cap stock. All big ETF consist mostly of the same big names. Even small cap ETF have a big weight on a few names. So its a bit tricky.

My main issue with Ford is that they seems to have given up competing on the future and retreated to defend their segment of the market they are most comfortable in. Like they've all but given up on saloons and medium sized family cars to focus on trucks.

Tesla is doing better than Ford and I think will continue to do better than Ford but I don't think Ford is out for the count and I think Tesla may be over valued. As for Ford simply focusing on Trucks, my feelings are mixed on that.
I kind of agree with it since their cars aren't selling as well as their trucks and it might be a good idea to move resources into a sector with higher margins and more profitability since even Ford "budget cars" (ford focus among others) will never be able to compete with shit like Kia's. On the other hand, they could be losing out on potential profits and it does sadden me to see that Ford is moving away from cars which most people would be in the market for. So as I said, it seems like a mixed bag but I think they're making the right decisions overall and despite what people say, I think Hacketts conservative approach is the right one right now.

Yeah Div's are nice but that's not the only thing. You could go after VZ and it's 0.60 div but you'd pay $60 per to get it (right now). Look at Dis or KO, T,etc. These companies are diverse, not tied to one thing or other. Yes they got lower Div so what? Over the long haul they'll still be kicking or stand a greater chance to anyway. Then you got Drip. Enable drip on them, over time watch as your share count climbs. The payout will climb as well.Then 20 yrs later disable drip and pocket the payout. This is not factoring any stock splits or you buying more shares as time goes on.
