I think there's definitely value to having a bit of physical gold/silver in the off chance we have an apocalypse scenario where even Bitcoin won't save you due to downed electrical systems, etc. But you should also have canned food, meds, guns, all that other good stuff too; and in such a scenario you may not even want to live, let's be honest.

The ETFs are great for hedging though, so much more liquid than bullion. Whatever way you go, always have some precious metals. Part of a healthy diversified portfolio. Just be sure to view it like it is: a store of value, not an investment.
