WILLY EXPLAIN

>> No.11750144

>>11750107
I'm actually more qualified to talk about this than most anons.I'm employed with a cyber-techno machinations company, I do a lot of security analyst programming type work. Open source, decentralized, APIs, partnerships, you name it. We'd be one of the first companies in line for something like Chainlink, if the decentralized smart contract space had more value over traditional data exchanges. There's a catch though, an underlying flaw more deeply embedded in the bedrock of LINK than the very code itself. The flaw is with the concept, and it's this: Companies won't actually go through the hassle of trusting their data API's through crypto.

Now I can already hear your keyboards going frantic, but hear me out. /biz/ hates banks, and traditional data providers. But actual companies, businesses, and investors do not. There's an old saying you might have heard of: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!". The idea that any of our bosses would give us the go ahead if we approached them to put our companies valuable data in a smart contract on a cryptocurrency called Chainlink, that they've never heard of, we'd be laughed out at best and fired on the spot at worst. We already have API data buyers and providers we trust.

'But Chainlink is trustless!' I hear you cry, but is that really a good thing? Just listen to the sound of it. Businesses don't want to spend millions of dollars on something that is trustLESS, they want something trustFUL. 'But the reputation system!', doesn't that defeat the whole point of your coin? If companies only trust nodes with high reputation, what's the difference between trusting banks and data providers that already have reputation, but in real life not on a computer screen.

The fact is, LINK is going to share the same fate as ETH will. A lot of 'real world application' hype, with a lot of 'crypto world application' reality. Only, this billion supply coin isn't going to come close to the $1k that Etherum hit. Happy gambling though anons.

What about something like ethereum 2.0?

Do you think it's possible the market meltdowns until we're all meme'd to death with pink wojaks and then ethereum 2.0 comes along with LINK through next year and magically revives the whole thing bigger and better than ever? I'm kind of a brainlet on the deeper computer science, will this segwit thing fuck something like Ethereum 2.0 equally as hard to the point the whole thing is fucked or BTC and its derivatives just fucked? Could any other standouts hang in there or will a Btc-specific death kill everyone by virtue?

I've heard some people say TPBP were going to ride the market to near zero for awhile to get all consumers out before they finally adopt blockchain so I've been expecting something like this for awhile but it sounds like the issues are of a more technical than conspiratorial nature, something I understand a little less than I'd like to about (although not nothing)

Oh and again appreciate you coming here for us NEET shitposters. For awhile now I've realized some of the "LARPs" are real and frequently attract the most detractors so you've got to take it on a case basis and your prediction came through pretty solid.

Also from what I understand you've said if BTC shits the bed fully EOS is fucked too or am I wrong? Will stable coins get fucked when everyone tries to exit and save their asses through them?

Oh and another thought while I have you, I saw your other post about your companies bosses not adapting stuff like LINK quickly and I do agree and see the point. But if I may take a long view (an "Idiocracy" view if you will) I personally believe that one day your bosses will be wanting to hurry along a transition to trust less automated vehicles because our society will not have enough people the overlords actually find trustFUL because of low IQ. Basically once we finish going idiocracy, the powers will realize they cant trust mutts this dumb to even run things as they are now even and will transition to these solutions because they will remove the very low IQ average human from the equation. I do understand though that's probably further away than investments like this are likely to mature (at least as people think that is). I'm sure you and your coworkers are probably smarter than I am but I wonder how many years until there just arent enough intelligent people left vs the population at large. Any feelings on this view, fully retarded or actually potential? Sorry for the sophistry question.

Ok this explains this question I guess.

EOS isn't decentralized, there are literally only 21 block producers that collude on telegram to do whatever the fuck they want on the chain. That's why it's so damn fast

It is decentralized. It uses 21 voted in block producers.

> Muh votes dont matter

Yeah but its how the system works.
Also ETH is going to have the same exact problems when it UPGRADES to serenity. So you might as well just get used to this kind of shit, its not going away.

Vitalik has his reasons to hate eos yes, decentralization is a meme, and eos has 21 block producers controlling it which makes it more decentralized than ETH or BTC in regards of how hard it is to do an “attack” the fact eos has the constitution and arbitration is helpful to keep shit outta the hands of hackers, no need to do a Dao fork if the block producers can roll those type of transactions with appropriate proof, this is beneficial for enterprise adoption. as of now no one has had their funds seized that wasn’t justified and the block producers are incentivized just like miners are on BTC to be honest and keep their investment valuable and have appeal. The security on eos is good as you can have multiplie priv keys controlling your account for different permissions.

If BTC shits the bed the market doe becuase we still follow daddy for now. The beautiful thing about eos right now though, it’s not attackable for guys last or shark pool so it’s one of the safer coins to keep your money in.

The link post I made was just a copy pasta don’t take it too seriously

Its the best example of a POS dapps platform right now. Not to say it wont be improved on with other coins like ETH NEO TRX ADA and Miota down the road. But all of the complaints people pose against EOS right now are complaints about POS in general.

Make no mistakes, this is a POW vs POS debate. And ETH is already capitulating to POS which is the obvious choice.

On that note if BTC shits the bed we are all fucked. Which is possible if the hash war breaks out. We may no bullshit see a river of blood even for coins that don't function like BTC on a core level.

Stable coins wont survive well even in this kind of situation... FUCK!

So if I wanna make it, consider going to stablecoin waiting for the total shittening on BTC (whether that's 2kish or whatever) and then when EOS is near bottom (hopefully being able to know when they is) move all the money I made stable back into the market into EOS?

Fuck this is my fear. do I need to get out to stable coins or will BTC shit the bed so hard even the stable coins break and everyone not in fiat takes it up the ass

I dont have enough in to mean the end of the world but it's enough to me to prefer to not lose it

>tezos is far superior to eos.

Probably.
But one thing I think that needs to be pointed out is that POS is superior to POW for exactly the reason tezos can be superior to eos. POS has room to grow. We can continue modifying the systems involved to make them better. EOS can adopt a lot of the functionality of Tezos down the road. Hell EOS can adopt a lot of the functionality of Serenity when it comes out.

POW is trapped where it is much more so than POS. POS coins will find a lot more dapps adoption for this reason alone. The more competition in this space the better actually.

Why would corporations use EOS? and how can they compete with Hyperledger, r3 Corda, or JP Morgan Quorum?

>Why would corporations use EOS?

Apparently Wax is an example where a company/corporation just went ahead and forked EOS for their own use. Honestly guys, its going to be social media and games that take lead on dapps platforms and the first few waves of these are going to be indie developers and small companies.

The big dogs wont show up because it undermines their profit models.

Also the biggest dapps are going to be cross coin supported projects. Why make dapps that support only one coin when you can go ham on 10 or 15 and let people choose the coin they want.

I hope you make more threads to keep us updated and whatnot. I really appreciate this. Will be loading up on EOS and BCHSV at the prices you suggested. I really do hope the segwit flaw is just bullshit, would be scary to see BTC die, unless all the money in BTC goes to BCHSV via a flippening
