I am 16 years old and am looking for some advice. A few months ago I dropped out of high school (High honor roll student and president of a club so I'm not exactly a deadbeat fortunately) I believe most of you here are probably in the 19-30 age range and most have gone to college. I already have my GED so now I am looking at career options and college courses (pharmacology interests me but I am open minded). Since you have experience, can anyone give personal insight on which degrees you should go for and which ones you shouldnt? Should I even go to college? What have you other highschool dropouts done?

I should also mention that I have 6 months of literally doing nothing until I turn 17 (to get my liscense and drive to the college). Any recommendations of what I should do in that time? I have about a grand saved up from working if that matters. Thinking about using Robinhood.

I am looking to be spoonfed, I just don't have anyone like a guidance counselor to discuss this with. I'm just looking for personal experiences and advice. Thanks

first step to success is getting banned from 4chan

I always heard to major in what makes money and minor in what you love

I already quit vidya for quite a while so a Chan ban would help me even more

Why the fuck did you drop out?

I dropped out because I'm a retarded degenerate, but why the fuck did you?

>Should I even go to college?
Absolutely yes. Even community college or trade school is better than nothing.

>I have 6 months of litterally nothing until I turn 17
Do research on different colleges, professions, and work a part-time job for money. Do not factor in money while researching professions though. They're almost always inaccurate numbers that are representative of the region, industry, nationality of business, etc that cause major fluctuations in salaries.

Study what you want to be honest, but please study something. The days of walking into a successful career out of high school are over. You'll be machine operating/cashiering/data entering for life otherwise.

A lot of majors have multiple applications, but you shouldn't study something that makes you want to kill yourself, even if you're good at it. For example, if you did well in high school chem, that shouldn't be an indicator of studying chemistry being a good idea. You have to have passion.

Minors are for shits and gigs with not much use other than being fun to study or decorating resumes.

I'm pretty bad socially and was told by a psychiatrist that I may have developing schizophrenia. I figured that as long as I got my GED and get to college early I won't be set back.

I would strongly recommend a trade to be honest, it will pay well and if you start now, you can save up a good amount to invest. You're smart enough to ask for help, and honestly this will give you a huge advantage over many of the average tradespeople when it comes to finding constant work. Remember the job is only there to fund your personal desires. Investing while you're young will set you up so you can retire early and enjoy life.
