Lets say a link node holds 1 mil worth of link. The node fucks up some guys information and costs the guy 1 mil but link crashes that very day by 30%. Wouldn't the volatility of this token cause people to lose billions?

ANSWER ME FUCKS ITS NOT LIKE THERE IS SOMETHING ELSE IMPORTANT TO TALK ABOUT RIGHT NOW

>heh, nothin' personal kid

it simply will not function like that.
there will be a redundancy.

the whole point of decentralization....you cuck ....if 1 node answers wrong then only THAT node will get its reputation reduced and he would pay a fee...but just like on the road when you misbehave you get a ticket. same shit with link. the smart contract with a 1million $ collateral will just require 1000 nodes maybe 100000 for now sergey said we dont know

This has been addressed before, something along the lines of the api call will be made within a very small window of time between the execution of the smart contract. A 30% loss over the course of a single minuet is unheard of for a project delivering what link will when they pull it off. Its not really something to worry about honestly.

also chainlink nodes will never hold crypto you fkin retard....you will just need about 10k links staked on a node to bootstrap it and get some reputation.

the smart contracts are the ones who manage wallets and money...but chainlink isnt a smart contract solution....it only provides offchain computation and api data

jeesus fucking Christ, how retarded has this board become. Have you read the white paper? Do you understand the purpose of the tokes? Do you know who will be utilizing it and for what?
This is not going to be a traded coin. The overwhelming majority of its holders will be enterprise lvl conglomerates and they will be staking the entirety of their stacks in perpetuity ti leverage acces to the network while monetizing their data. There will not be 30% losses, this wont be traded, it wont be swung. There will be multiple waves. And evey wave it will only go up more and more. Why? Cuz first the largest corporations in the world are going to own and lvg at least 60% of the tokens. After a short while of revolutionary cost savings/security/and efficiency in operations, the remaining top 25% of international orgs will either pruchases services through the top 10% or they will try to access the network themselves. They are worth trillions. We could spend the next 20 yrs solely overtaking the bonds and derrivatives markets and the price would still never drop. Anons selling their stacks on the ascension will not even register in the markets fror one second. Their bags will be likely bought otc by these big corps at whatever price is currently reasonable with that price continually rising. The reason? ALmost every token will be staked in a node. The circ supply will be far less than 100 mil. the market cap will likely be in the tens of trillions(to cover the collateral of the market contracts its executing), and the line of companies trying to game access to the network will never end. One last thing, cuz you are obviously a lazy retard who cant dyor. The higher the price, the more secure the network, and the higher the network bandwidth. 18 decimal points. You don't deserve this pep talk, but im feeling generous, so take this info and fuck off back to retard land you lucky ass cunt.

You guys must be getting pretty bored to be making up such stupid hypotheticals.
