Punished GALT edition

>I'm new to the stock market, what stocks should I buy?
Before you buy anything, make a brokerage account and read investopedia articles and/or the books in the OP list. If you don't have a broker, you can't buy stocks, and if you blindly buy things without understanding how the stock market works or doing any research on the individual stocks you're buying, you will lose money and it will be entirely your fault.

better a loop de loop sideways trading session for the next however long, than a big red shit downwards, as that would just fuck everyone's pensions etc and the entire economy.

Once businesses are healthy and relatively debt free, then the interest rates should be raised, this would then strengthen the dollar, therefore the purchasing power of US based indivudals and businesses, and make USA # 1.

Indexes would ofc continue upwards on this basis of business health.

Fuckin yanks, britcuck posting.

Donald J Trump is the most dangerous man to come in and influence America. He is ruining all the good work we've been doing for the past several decades in the west.

His cis, heterosexual, whiteness diqualifies him from any discussion, yet he keeps butting in with his "opinion" and fucking stupid morons keep believing him like the good little NPCs they are.

I will NEVER call him President. He is a fake. Hopefully his momentum dies soon because the damage he is causing to society is irreparable.

My own trades are doing fine. Yesterday's long range projection for Canopy Growth went the way I expected today. Seems like it should do some approximation of my yellow meme lines if M&A from their newly acquired 5 billion bucks is strategically sound. Not the sector for me, fampai
Biotech > Tech, imo
I can handle volatility, and I like the fact that the success of a company is based on something objective like the efficacy of a drug
I also find science naturally easier to understand than economics, so I find it much easier to tell if a company is good or not based on the results of clinical studies than on SEC filings
Also, people will keep having diseases regardless of how the economy is doing, so it's a good sector to invest in during a recession or economic downturn

What a lot of people don’t get about booze in Utah is that concentration is mandated by weight, not volume like everywhere else in the world. Convenience stores can nominally only stock beer that’s 3.2% alcohol, but that’s 3.2% by weight, making it around 4% by volume, so pretty much normal beer. Sucks that you have to go to the state liquor store for wine or hard liquor though.

The History of Rome is just based as fuck
From my (limited) experience with military histrory, I feel that the greatest generals are those who:
- thought of a disruptive way of making wars
- had a gut feeling and a mental image about the forces in presence

In the first statement, that general would be achieving victories non stop until his enemies understand the trick and imitate him, making the win/lose ratio even

depends on what land that country would occupy

roman republic was based, but to paraphrase a famous emperor; "Senators are pigs who deserve to be slaughtered as such"

Empire relied too much on generals/armies keeping the peace with a coup whenever the old leader died without a suitable heir (and no social mobility, so curruption festered and grew when it appeared)

Republic tended to quick to adapt, but shit at long term planning, and terrible when the two consuls disagreed
the senators who reign for life and inheritted the position didnt help anything either. nor did the republics very harsh and conservative religious laws (Poena cullei, Decimation, ectera were republic era laws)
the republics laws to enact a dictator with absolute control in times of crisis (for 1 year long terms) was very flexible and helpful though, unless the dictator became too successful in dealing with the external threat....because they tended to turn against the senate/republic when they became powerful enough

empire worked great when the emperor was great, but was quick to go to shit when the great emperors died, taking generations to get back to stability

the republic system encouraged armies to be loyal to their general, not to their state
and this loyalty caused the generals to overthrow the republic, since a republic with no army is no match for a general with a large well trained army

>>11621458
Legio just meant "conscript", but was shorthand for different troops at different periods in time
usually meant someone who hasnt seen much fighting yet
>i think a standard bearer and a band of saavy veterans would have a hard time in battle without the "meat" of the unit behind them

Lost a huge amount. I had started my trading a few months ago a good 70% up for the year, and now it’s mostly gone along with initial capital. I wasn’t THAT long, but I went long and short term when I had already told myself to never do that.

I have a few hundred QQQ vertical spreads that have short 171 and long 171.50 call strikes respectively, very small credit unfortunately because while I waited too long to open. I predicted the days movement yesterday perfectly but waited too long to believe it and open. Held over weekend, got a few short term AMZN calls as well before close so I can see movement on Monday and then close the loser ASAP and put the money into the winner early. Which should realistically be one of the two and not both or neither. This market is fucked with mimicry out the ass and amazon is basically serving as a TQQQ these days. Unsure if it’s cause and effect and doubt it matters

Ever since I decided to wait out and not predict earnings or big geopolitical events I’ve felt calmer. I’m unsure how the election will swing, since I have doubts that it will be a split and clean as every seems to believe it’ll be. So I’ll close my positions Tuesday at some point. Republicans sweep and we have a short term bull run after a potential overnight plunge. Democrats win more than the house and we get a small overnight plunge and then sideways to bear for a while. Either way I’m very skeptical of this market after October, and I sense that there’s some sort of black swan coming that can finally cause an actual strong downwards turn. I’m not sure if that’s the midterm.

Good lesson to learn. I have consistently better success staying in cash if I know something screwy like that is about to go down, see what happens and how the stock reacts, trade the new scenario if it looks tradeable.

Personal lesson for this year: STOP trading IPO debuts. I see those ridiculous 50% swings within a couple days of the ticker opening for public trade and hop in on the action to get a slice of some of that volatility. It's high stress, crazy risky, none of the conventional TA applies for those first few days of trading, and I get locked in to a cost averaging swing I didn't really want in the first place. So i'm not going to participate in this specific flavor of madness in future.

she'd probably end up raw on the inside if you just fried her without doing anything else to cook her flesh beforehand, though

a better option would be to put her on a rotisserie and roast her alive, both for the sake of flavor and making it last as long as possible

>tfw you will never dip a roll of bread in the juicy drippings of rkg's burnt flesh and eat it

Jesus Christ. At least hold on to it for a while and collect the fucking DIV. My average was a very unimpressive $9. Held the bag for a while, sold at 9.36 but I also get the DIV Dec 3.
Not a huge gain, but I didn't have to shovel shit for it and I took the money and bought some new positions.
DIVS are your fren.

A lot of people seem to think HCLP puts are the way to go. From all of the reading I've done it seems that things won't get better for them until next year, but maybe they won't at all. The whole C-corp conversion is beyond my understanding. I may average down a bit, and even with the DIV cut someone brave enough to take a new position now could be happy later.
But man... glad I only have a handful. Avoid.

Since I was on holidays I didn't have much time to check my portfolio, but it seems like I'm pretty green this week. Since I've finished most of the heavy lifting in my new home, I'll be able to dump a quarter of my salary on the stock market every month again.

Buy FLO on Bittrex
Disgusting fucking shills are everywhere with their heavy ASS BAGS. I guess that's what happens when you buy up an ICO
Did you know that BAT ico had only 120 participants. Imagine how fucking big their smiles are as they dump that shit all over coinbase! LOL! BAT raised $30million in 6 seconds. It's now trading at 400million.Lmao pajeets 15x'ed those rich guys money

Oh,and by the way, If you think that the next bull run will pump your alt coins like XRP, TRON, BAT,ZRX, ADA that are sitting in the hundreds of millions or billions in market capitalizations, prepare to be FUBAR'd

There are a ton of blockchains with high potential that are sitting under 10M in market cap because of the recent bitcoin bear run. Those will be the ones who will replace most of the shit you see in the top 200
And with that...I present you pajeets with the one and only Angelina FLOlie

Did you guys see the violent + epic rise of RVN from 30 million to over $150 million market valuation in the last weeks???
I'm here to tell you that FLO is the sister of RVN. FLO is only $5 million marketcap.
The rise of RVN was due to Overstock and Tzero using RVN for their platform.Well...they're also using FLO! It's on the down low. Nobody knows. But now you do!

Binance listed RVN because it was fairly launched and had NO ICO and NO premine. Guess what?So was Flo.
tZERO bought 5 Million $FLO

Take a look:
https://livenet.flocha.in/address/FUDgz1Qj8HCm4F1RfNMLj4Miyq9REsQiLd

Then take a look at the transaction data:

"Inventory Posted: SOI(239) STI(246) Broker(1313) Account() Time(08/14/2018 08:00:01.846) Side(Sell) Symbol(GPRO.DLR) Qty(8400) Price(0.00600) OrderType(Limit) TimeInForce(DAY)"

These are coming from tZERO DLR records that are stored on top of the FLO blockchain

Is there a more coddled group of people on the planet than bulls? The market is already rigged to go up because of rules that present evil short sellers from driving prices lower (aka price discovery). They can make infinite bad decisions, do zero research and the fucking president comes to bail them out. What happens to these people when we get a real working market and not a ponzi scheme?
