Politically maybe, but not economically. If anything, russia will become less and less relevant and digress into being Chinas ressource-discounter, who occasionally stirrs up the middle east and Ukraine.

Russia has way too many problems (corruption, baindrain, AIDS is rampaging through the land, no innovation whatsoever, raging nationalism, throughly fucked demographics) to ever become comparable to the other BRICS.

Europe has reserves to get over about 3 months of no delivery of ressources whatsoever while maintaining everything.
Ration it and Europe can do even longer.
Add regular deliveries from the middle east and US: another period where Europe can do very well without russian gas and think about other sources.

All the while more than 60% of russian exports go to exact zero.
Europe might get a winter and a slight economical recession, but Russia goes straight back to 1920.
